Yuusha Party ni Kawaii Ko ga Ita no de, Kokuhaku Shitemita Ep.11 - Come on Raven!

Episode 10 of the anime series Yuusha Party ni Kawaii Ko ga Ita no de, Kokuhaku Shitemita (I Confessed to the Adorable Girl in the Hero's Party) drifts away from the main plot once again for another episode focused on Happiness and Raven. In this installment, Happiness finally reveals her identity as a harpy to Raven.

If you remember from last week, I speculated that something like this might happen because three episodes for the arranged marriage plotline seemed like too many. However, I was not expecting the writers to conjure a plot out of thin air just to fill time before the grand finale.

Celia was like 'Cecilia, it's obvious that you like Youki, just grow up and tell him'. I agree with her...

The child side of Youki and Happiness appears from time to time like in this scene.

The entire episode serves as a segment to confirm the relationship between Raven and Happiness. Happiness reveals to Raven that she is a harpy rather than a human, and everything works out well, making the couple even closer. As a positive side effect that will surely be relevant in the final story arc, Youki's identity as the powerful demon who defeated the Hero Party is revealed as well. Interestingly, Raven did not seem surprised by this at all.

Raven has also overcome his weakness and is now able to use his feminine voice normally without feeling embarrassed. I am not sure if we have seen the last of the vice captain, though. It feels as if he still hasn't fully accepted Raven and might try to cause trouble in the future.

Happiness plotting to get fun at the expenses of Youki. Honestly though, I feel it was all a way to make sure that Raven is aware that Youki is a demon, but maybe I'm reading too much into this. View video page

There were a few glimpses of information regarding the main plot when Cecilia discussed the situation with her mother, Celia, but nothing that significantly changed the circumstances. Apparently, the man who wants to marry Cecilia is already in town and is preparing for their first meeting.

We all know he is likely to be an easy-to-hate jerk, given how these tropes usually work. This setup typically allows Youki and the rest of the cast to have their moment to shine by jumping in to save Cecilia. It is a standard cliché, but it can be fun if executed correctly.

Happiness strikes again. I feel though this was a plan to make sure that Youki shows his real form to Raven.

Youki and Duke act like great friends even though they were master and subordinate before.

With only two episodes left before the end of the season, I want to see how the story concludes, but I do not plan on reading the source material. While I like the characters, I feel there have been more boring moments than entertaining ones, and there are more important series in my backlog to prioritize.
