ZZZ 2.7 Patch Story - Cissia is just way too adorable! Promeia?!

ZZZ has released a new patch that acts as part one of the epilogue for the 2.x series. This time, the focus is on Cissia, an agent working under Commissioner Severian. I have to say that I was completely enthralled by her personality and backstory, much more than I expected.

Cissia comes from a poor background and was a thief for most of her life before becoming involved with a criminal group that was eliminated by a cleaner called Promeia (from the Krampus group), who will apparently be playable in the next patch. After that deeply scarring encounter, she ran away and, thanks to Jane, found a job at NEPS and a bit of stability.

This was the cutest scene of the entire patch with Cissia and Belle relaxing while eating a pudding. It really shows how much of a genuine good girl Cissia is.

Admittedly it's easy to misunderstand this situation, but Promeia wasn't going to kill Cissia anyway. She was just there for the two criminals.

She is naturally cowardly due to her trauma and never truly recovered from the events of that day, which is evident in how she fears anyone she knows to be strong, such as Promeia. The good part is that she really likes Belle, and when faced with the chance to escape, she instead jumps in to fight against overwhelming odds to protect her.

That, along with the many scenes she shares with Belle, makes me really fond of her as a character. I like her perhaps even more than the much more popular Ye Shunguang, who was pushed hard by HoYoverse a few patches ago. It could also be a reflection of how the setting has returned to traditional urban fantasy, moving away from the Waifei Peninsula concepts that, honestly, were not that good.

Just look at those smooth animation of Cissia in this cutscene. Just how adorable can she be? Snake wife best wife indeed! View video page

The patch also introduces several other characters who will become much more important in the 3.x series. The most prominent are Norma, a child-looking genius; Velina, her assistant and caretaker; and the mysterious Remiel, who seems able to stop time and move freely within it.

The third one in particular is the one I assume will be the next Void Hunter level character and the primary focus of 3.x. I am genuinely curious about her abilities. Only the Proxy seemed nearly able to break through her time-stopping barrier with her eyes. Who is she, and why did Velina and Norma seemingly know that she had appeared and stole the item?

Poor snake child Cissia. Just look at her fear. That's the kind of thing that makes me want to take her home and feed her all day!

Belle showing her protagonist power by protecting Cissia, these two really gives good vibes when they interact.

Either way, it was an amazing four hours of story to go through, and I am genuinely stoked to roll for Cissia once she drops in the second banner of the patch. Hopefully, ZZZ can salvage the story after the disappointing 2.x series, and this patch seems like a good step in that direction.
