Temenos Ch.3 Stormhail Route - Crick's faith and the Sacred Guard

As expected, Vados the Architect was killed by the Sacred Guard, and Captain Kaldena was revealed as the mastermind behind the entire operation. She had not been hiding her involvement particularly well in the previous chapter, to the point that I immediately identified her as the most likely culprit.

More than Temenos, who remains the coolest character in the game, this chapter showcases a significant amount of growth for Crick as a person. He comes from a noble family that fell from grace, and while struggling to survive, he spent his time searching for a purpose. He found that purpose in the words of the previous inquisitor, Roi, who had supported him up until this point. Although Crick began to doubt his faith, he still persevered. He eventually met his end at the hands of the enemy, but not before providing Temenos with the vital information needed to solve the puzzle and find the proof required to pursue the truth.

Roi was the previous inquisitor and a close friend of Temenos. He disappeared while investigating the secrets of the church, but not before telling Temenos that the institution was hiding a terrible secret. I am not yet sure how this connects directly to Kaldena, however.

The next chapter will feature the final showdown against Kaldena to prevent her from using the knowledge she gathered from those forbidden books to cause a catastrophe in the world.
