Hyakkano Season 3 Ep.08 - Yaku joins the family! That's dangerous...
Episode 8 of Hyakkano Season 3 continues right from where we left off with the introduction of the new heroine, Yakuzen Yaku, Kusuri's 89-year-old grandmother. Of course, she's stuck in a small girl's body because of the potions that Kusuri developed, so her original form isn't shown.
They did show her in adult form, though, and she's stunning and very traditional-looking, in a different way than Yamato Nadeshiko before the current USA phase. I was initially thinking they might be running out of possible archetypes for the heroines, and then they delivered this gem.

Yaku is your typical older lady, unable to use technology (even normal landline phones), finds it hard to remember names and faces, and even gives small sweets to the girls, like any respectable grandmother would! She treats Rentarou like she would a grandson, but is interested in living a different romance.
Her original husband (who died more than 10 years prior) was a manly man, so she's interested in having a romance with someone different, which Rentarou fits perfectly. Rentarou tried the "wild" approach, but clearly it wasn't made for him; he's too much of a normal guy.
The second part of the volume was the introduction segment, with Yaku getting to know the various other heroines. There were lots of cute moments, especially when Yaku was unable to remember each of the heroines (and who can blame her, with so many of them) and started mixing up characters.
Watching Karane in Hakari's "super lewd" mode or Hahari in Mei's "ultimate maid" mode was hilarious (see the two attached screenshots). I made so many screenshots, and it was hard to choose which ones to bring here. It also worked as a way to remind the viewer about the quirks of each heroine, so it was a double win.

Now, unless there's any other surprise, I think we are only missing one heroine to be added to the roster this season. She's the "samurai"-type girl who appears in the OP, but who knows if she'll appear next week or if they'll wait a bit longer by developing the girls we have right now instead.
