Hyakkano Season 3 Ep.09 - I want to pamper Tototoro Kishika too!
Episode 9 of Hyakkano Season 3 delivers two amazing segments introducing the 17th heroine of the story, Torotoro Kishika: a kendo player who seems stern and serious, but is actually someone who wants to be pampered and taken care of all day.
I honestly wasn't expecting a new heroine to be introduced, because the entire first half of the episode was literally the entire cast going to a recreation facility in swimsuits and having random fun. It was lots of fun, believe me; I was laughing at every single mini-sketch.

There was an interesting amount of yuri too: aside from the obvious Hakari/Karane combination, we also had Mimimi x Meme, Hahari x Maido, and many more. It kind of makes sense, because Rentarou can only be in one place at a time, so in their downtime, they just bond with each other.
Then, in the second half, they introduced Kishika. My first impression was, "Oh, she's a boyish, cool-type, beautiful girl," but man, it turns out I was wrong all along. Yeah, sure, her front is like that, but because she lives as the eldest daughter in a family with four children, she was never pampered.
This caused her to develop a coping mechanism where she listens to voice recordings saying she's doing a good job and offering other reassuring words. Her reaction when Rentarou started patting her head was hilarious: she regressed to a baby almost immediately and started calling him Papa.
All the heroines this season have been great, but Kishika is definitely the one who grabbed me the most with her introduction so far. Of course, her story isn't over, as she hasn't yet been introduced to the other heroines. It's going to be interesting to see how Hahari reacts, because she's the adult in the group, and I'm sure she would love to pat her head.

One negative thing I noticed in this episode is that the overall animation quality seemed to have regressed massively, to the point where it was obvious something was "off." I'm not sure if it's a one-off or not, but we're near the end of the season anyway; I guess they'll fix it when it's released on BD...
