Hyakkano Season 3 Ep.11 - Nano x Shizuka is golden. Let's go with that!

Episode 11 of Hyakkano finally gives us a Hahari-centered episode showing a date between her and Rentarou, and it was the cutest thing ever. I know I'm biased because I love Hahari a lot, but watching her get embarrassed while wearing a high school girl's uniform (despite being 29 years old) was priceless.

For her, it's a dream because she had Hakari at a young age and never really had time to experience her teenage years like anyone else. Plus, she looks no older than 20, so it's easy to pass her off as a high schooler; even students from other schools thought she was a third-year.

She doesn't look any different than any other high school girl with that blush and embarrassed look, Hahari is the best!

Just sitting side by side and reading a book, that's quite cute and I love how you can stay there and just read without talking.

I love the approach of dedicating half an episode to a specific character and giving them time to shine. Having such a big cast makes things difficult, though, because it would take an entire season just to go through them all once. That's why the second-best approach is what happened in the latter half: a segment centered on two characters.

The second half was focused on Shizuka and Nano. Shizuka suddenly stopped using her smartphone to talk, and Nano grew suspicious about what happened, so she invited her to spend some time together. Nano looks robotic in how she interacts, but she's actually quite caring, as we saw in the previous episode when she shrank.

Now, I know it was a serious dramatic moment and all that, but I can't stop thinking that Nano x Shizuka is actually a great pairing and could work just as well as the Hakari x Karane dynamic we all know about. I really need to get around to reading the manga to see where this all goes...

This leads into the final arc of the season, which seems to be about resolving Shizuka's issues with her mother. Her mother appears to be an extremely cold, commanding person, and while I can see her point in wanting her child to speak, I wonder if that's actually going to backfire on her.

Who would've thought Hahari was to become such a character though. I remember I was partial to her initial introduction back in the first season

The kyaa moment for me was when Nano approached Shizuka as seen in this screenshot. The yuri glasses activated on their own!

I laughed when Rentarou was scared that making eye contact would trigger the zing and turn Shizuka's mother into another girlfriend, but it turns out we're safe for now. It would be hilarious if they end the season with another girlfriend added right at the very end, though.
