Jingai Kyoushitsu no Ningengirai Kyoushi Ep.02 - Isaki's second form is a gal?!

Episode 2 of Jingai Kyoushitsu no Ningengirai Kyoushi (人外教室の人間嫌い教師) starts by exploring the main heroines of the story and the problems they carry a bit more. The main focus of the episode seems to be around Kyoka Minazuki, the mermaid of the group who wants to become human to be able to dance.

It turns out she is completely unable to do much at all and is the worst when it comes to dancing, even compared to the other girls who were not aiming for that at all. She still strives to improve, which sort of impresses the protagonist, Rei Hitoma, as he compares it to what he has been doing since the incident that caused him to become a shut-in.

So who's the predator and who's the prey here?

Who is this girl and how is she connected to the trauma of protagonist?

We still do not know what the incident was, but we got a very small frame (as seen in the screenshot attached to this article) of a high school girl talking or running toward the camera. He was a teacher even before becoming a shut-in, so I guess it must be something that happened at school, but the details are uncertain. I speculate, however, that it may be related to bullying of some kind.

The mermaid situation is also quite a time bomb because, apparently, any mermaid who tries to become human and does not manage to achieve that within a specific timeframe (which is not specified) becomes foam and disappears altogether. Kyoka seems to be okay with it, but it would almost surely create an even bigger trauma for the poor protagonist.

They also explained a bit about how the school system works. It seems like old rivalries between races are cancelled when they are at school. That kind of makes sense; otherwise, you would not have a wolf in the same class as a rabbit for... obvious reasons. They also explain how the ring the teacher has is the key to being able to stay at the school. If he removes it, he loses ALL memories of what happened and won't recover them until touching the ring again. This is almost surely going to be used in some pivotal emotional moment.

Oh, and we got the beginning of Isaki Ohgami's (the wolf) personal issue story arc, from the looks of it. She turns into a gal whenever the full moon is out, which was quite cute, and I quite like her new form. However, we also got a quite ominous scene with a small wolf getting sealed in a cell whenever the full moon is out, voicing her worries to the moon.

Gal Isaki is quite good. I like her more than the original version.

She's so positive it's almost blinding to more jaded people like me.

Is it the same Isaki or some other wolf? Or maybe a past memory of Isaki before coming to the school? She said that she wanted to become human because she didn't like this "half-assed" existence, which fits with what the little wolf was saying.

I am looking forward to what happens next week with this. The series has potential for good storytelling despite the low animation budget, so let's see how the first story arc goes...
