Jingai Kyoushitsu no Ningengirai Kyoushi Ep.08 - Alice in, Neneko out? That was quick.

Episode 8 of Jingai Kyoushitsu no Ningengirai Kyoushi (人外教室の人間嫌い教師) shifts the focus to Neneko following last week's episode on Karin. This is a refreshing change compared to the previous story arcs and introduces a new twist with the appearance of a character named Alice.

It seems that Neneko did not actually want to become human; she was simply following the orders of her master, a witch named Alice. This explains why she is so demotivated. Apparently, if she stays with Alice any longer, she will eventually lose her sanity and become a Nekomata. Therefore, her only other option was to become human.

Between Shiranui's adult form and Alice, the cast got quite an increase in sexy characters.

Shame that she had to go back to cat form, I liked her design the best among the new students, a real shame.

Following Hitoma's suggestion, which was quite obvious to be honest, Neneko gathers the courage to face Alice. The resulting resolution is for Neneko to be expelled and live within a barrier environment for three years while Alice works hard to find a way for Neneko to remain by her side. While this removes one character from the advanced class, as Neneko has returned to her cat form, it adds Alice as a recurring character because Hitoma has been tasked with cleaning her new residence at the shrine.

We also learn that Alice and Shiranui, also known as Haneda, are old friends dating back to when the school was first established. Alice apparently helped her during those early stages. This makes me wonder exactly how old Alice is. Are witches as immortal as phoenixes in this universe? She looks quite young, perhaps in her late twenties at the oldest.

Apparently, Shiranui's original reason for building the school involved a Dryad who wanted to become human. Shiranui granted the wish, but it backfired because the Dryad was not prepared to mingle with human society. This likely caused her death, though it was not explicitly stated, and she became a tree that Shiranui later used as the core for the school.

I wonder if there will be a flashback episode at some point to delve deeper into the matter. I am very curious to learn what happened back then and how Shiranui's personality changed over time. What challenges did she face during the process of building the school?

With Neneko leaving, Haneda is the best even if I'm not sure if she can even be considered a student.

The next episode is titled "The Misanthrope and the Heart's Deepest Desire," which seems to align with Machi being the focus. In a previous episode, she mentioned wanting to become human to enjoy various delicacies, but is that really her only reason? It feels a bit too simple.
