Jingai Kyoushitsu no Ningengirai Kyoushi Ep.10 - Filler episode mostly. Now Haruna Mirai?!

Episode 10 of Jingai Kyoushitsu no Ningengirai Kyoushi (The Misanthropic Teacher in the Demi-human Class) delivers something of a filler episode, closing out Isaki's graduation and providing some depth to Sui's backstory without adding much significant value to either of their character arcs.

Isaki's segment involved her worrying that the others were ignoring her, although they were actually busy preparing two celebrations for her graduation. For Sui, the plot focused on her delivering a letter to her deceased owner and meeting the owner's daughter instead. While these were nice moments, they felt somewhat out of place during this transition period, almost like side stories.

I wonder what is she planning to do by inviting the trauma source right at the school. Because in the end she's the one pulling the shots...

I understand coincidence and all, but to find the right person at first attempt without even trying? That takes some luck...

The reveal at the end of the episode (see the attached video) was quite effective though, finally setting the stage for the final story arc that will conclude this adaptation. Hitoma must face Haruna Mirai, the student who originally caused him to give up on being a teacher a few years before the beginning of the story. Apparently she's becoming a teacher at the school.

Until now, we have only heard the story from the protagonist's point of view, and his recounting of those events was not particularly detailed. I hope the story will now show things from the student's perspective because I am curious to see exactly what happened between the two.

Haneda said it would require courage, but why would they invite something that could easily create trouble? You're saying the only two right persons were these two in the whole japan? View video page

With only three episodes left in the season, it feels like there is not enough time to cover both Hitoma's past and the two new girls who are set to be introduced when the new school year begins. This would essentially leave only one episode for each, which feels insufficient to really get to know the characters.

This entire adaptation has felt rushed from the start, both in terms of animation quality and story pacing. I am curious if these issues are specific to the anime or if they were present in the original light novels as well. There is also a manga, but I'm not sure which of the two was picked as basis for the adaptation.

Always striked by the difference in height between Sui and Hitoma. Sui really is small.

Sui faces are nice, but at this point we know she's faking it. She's actually sweet and caring.

I looked at the covers of the light novel and it seems we have covered volumes 1 and 2 so far, both of which were over 400 pages, and we are about to start volume 3, which is over 500 pages. There are five volumes in total so far, but honestly, the show has not done a good job of engaging me. It is unlikely I will end up buying or reading the source material.
