Kirei ni Shite Moraemasu ka Ep.09 - Scared Kinme. Sleeping in the same room?!

Episode 9 of Kirei ni Shite Moraemasuka (Wash It All Away), following last week's swimsuit fanservice episode, returns to the romance subplot. It places Kinme and Kyuushou in the same house while a storm is raging in the city, and at this point, it is clear the series is trying to pair them together.

the episode follows a standard template: Kyuushou arrives because of the heavy rain, the weather worsens, and Kinme asks him to stay over to try and act like a dependable adult. After a misunderstanding, they end up sleeping in the same room. Kyuushou nearly dies of embarrassment because Kinme is absolutely defenseless, making her a literal "poison to the eyes" for a high school boy.

Obligatory eyecatch with Neiro. She was sadly absent from this episode.

Holy Kinme. Like girl, are you trying to kill Kyuushou with your sex appeal?

This episode was made more impactful by highlighting just how alone Kinme is. Seeing her struggle to fix a fallen item until Kyuushou helped made me think about her current situation. She is alone, with no relatives or anyone who knows her past. She lacks the social safety net that most people have, and I can only wonder how scary that must feel.

Even her fear of thunder and ghosts, which was played as a joke, makes me wonder how she handles those fears when she is totally alone in her room. How does she face the fear of waking up one day and losing all her memories again? I can see why she is so fixated on her work, as it serves as a great way to distract herself.

Honestly, I felt a bit strange seeing Kinme open up and start talking to Kyuushou about her memories and her fears. I understand that she might feel vulnerable due to the circumstances of the day, but it might come across as a bit heavy, especially considering they are barely acquaintances at this point.

The conversation confirmed, however, that she did not remember anything from the trip she took last week and that she is afraid of losing even the memories of these last few days. She is probably just worried, as people forget things all the time. Looking back at my own last two years, I only remember the most important things that happened, but if we try and go into the details...

This was ultra cute, Kinme has this wide gap of expressions that you never get bored watching her.

Next week's episode is titled "A Top-Class Challenge." I wonder what Kinme will be challenged by? Perhaps she will be challenged to make boys fall for her based on her looks? I am certain she would be a world champion after the scenes in this episode.
