Kirio Fanclub Ep.06 - School trip, Nami's line was just perfect!

Episode 7 of Kirio Fanclub moves the setting away from the school and into the typical school trip that almost every anime features. While Kirio Fanclub tries to handle it in a different way by showing the two girls' approaches to Kirio, in the end, I don't think they managed to deliver anything groundbreaking in this episode.

Sure, we got the desperate attempt of Aimi trying to impress Kirio with her rehearsed knowledge and the usual antics from Seira, who is always present to spy on what her heroines are doing, but what really struck me was the line Nami delivered right after Aimi to everyone in her group.

One of the best pictures they delivered of Nami. She's plain, but she's so damn adorable when she smiles. I can see why Hayato likes her.

Seira is always present stalking her main heroines from the shadow. It takes some dedication to do what she does!

She said a very generic, emotional line about taking many photos together since it's the last time they can do that. The nice part is that the way she said it made it open to interpretation both ways. Aimi took it as an attempt to garner attention from Kirio, but clearly, the target of Nami's words was actually Aimi herself.

It may be me overthinking, but since I started thinking Nami is actually in love with Aimi, it is common for me to see these lines that could easily be interpreted both ways. I guess we will only know later in the story, or maybe I will be forced to buy and read the manga.

I had to save this scene with Nami, her lines were great and the delivery of the voice actor (Wakayama Shion) was also amazing. View video page

Apparently, the manga is over with six volumes released (running from 2022 to 2024), so I am pretty sure they can easily cover it all in this single anime adaptation, but a lot will depend on how quickly they are moving through the content. Six volumes isn't a lot, though, manga-wise.

Next episode should continue the school trip; Kirio is clearly detaching from the fun everyone else (except Manda) is having because of his traumatic experience with his former lover. Can Aimi and Nami pull him back in? Maybe during the group time when they are visiting various places.

Nami cheekingly trying to mock Aimi with the victory sign while playing card games with Kirio. I love her so much!

Poor Aimi instead is stuck with Manda who apparently is predicting a disaster is going to happen during this trip. What is the disaster is the question.

I think the key to completing the series is Aimi watching Kirio laugh again, but what happens after is the real mystery. Will they leave the status quo between them or actually build a couple between Nami and Aimi? I feel the former is more likely, but my heart really wants the latter.
