Kirio Fanclub Ep.06 - This is a lot more complicated. Who is Momose's target?!

Episode 6 of Kirio Fanclub complicates things even further by creating a weird romance chain within the group of characters that I suspected might happen, but didn't expect to blow up in this situation. We all know at this point that Nami is likely not in love with Kirio, but with Aimi and every episode seems to increase the likelihood of it.

The issue stems from the other characters, though: Aimi->Kirio; Momose -> Nami or Aimi; Satsuki -> Momose; Kirio -> Nozomi (deceased). Everyone is keeping their real feelings from each other, creating total chaos where everyone tries to outdo the other without realizing who is pursuing them.

Seira delivering on the weekly worth of comedy. Honestly loving her character as it brings lots of interesting comedy scenes.

RIP Aimi, you'll be forgotten within a day. My favorite is Nami after all. So much better!

Absent this week was Manda Mitsuru, but I'm genuinely curious if he's going to join in and express interest in any of the girls. That would be a hilarious final drop into an already overflowing cup of complicated teenage relationships. You know I'm cheering for Nami x Aimi, but let's see where they go.

Then, right at the end, they delivered that scene with Kirio and Nozomi's mother, and it hit particularly hard because it shows that he's still in love with Nozomi, no matter how much time passes. A small smile won't be enough to cause him to move on from her. The phone history with the messages was particularly emotional to me.

Aimi! You shouldn't sell out your best friend like that. Poor Nami doesn't want Momose, you should learn that Nami is totally yuri! View video page

I wonder how the others would react to seeing his true self and the pain he is still enduring. Aimi technically knows what happened that day, but does she know how much this is still burning inside him even now? Guessing is one thing; seeing it is something completely different.

Thankfully, the series hasn't forgotten that it's a comedy at its core, and it's rescued by Seira's fangirling over Aimi/Nami and the shop manager's obsession with the whole "Kirio Dragon" idea. Which, by the way, turned out to be merely Kirio looking at a weird shirt that a teacher wore one day.

The reaction momentum was hilarious. Poor Satsuki, she can't even hug Kirio without people staring at her like this.

Seira also look like the most beautiful of the group to me considering the main heroines aren't that special. Might be my taste though.

Now, I'm curious to see where the story goes from here. I doubt they'll add any more characters now that the relationships have been developed. Will they start tackling more serious themes, or continue with this balancing act between comedy, drama, and romance?
