Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu Ep.07 - Hana is just perfect! I loved her reactions.

Episode 7 of Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu completes the dungeon test arc and the Sasorijou Hana arc, which, honestly, ticked all the boxes I like about anime despite being very predictable. Spica and Hana work together and create a cross-magic that is able to defeat the griffin, but Spica runs out of mana and they fail the test.

In the aftermath, Hana becomes a lot more mellow, and we start to see how she is really just a cute, embarrassed girl who wants to make some friends. We get a friends' outing with Spica, Aria, and Io, and eventually, she admits that she wants them as friends. Was it revolutionary storytelling? Not really, but it was smooth, and I liked each development.

Just look at Hana's embarrassed blushing face! Just how can you hate such a cute girl?!

Plus, Hana's personality is so adorable that it's hard not to like her. The whole scene with her trying to understand how to interact with other girls her age was hilarious and just made her even more endearing. I thought I liked the Aria/Spica pairing, but Spica/Hana seems way more interesting yuri-wise.

They also managed to sneak in the preview for the next story arc, which is going to be a camp training trip, compulsory for all the students who failed the dungeon test (Spica and Hana included) and voluntary for those who passed it. This will probably shift the focus from Hana to another heroine for Spica to befriend.

Sirius Claude also got some development in this episode as he became way more attached to the students' success than he ever was. The change was apparently so drastic that even the other teachers noticed it. I wonder how he was before becoming a cat...

Considering we're already more than halfway through the season, I expect this arc to show the enemies in action for the first time; otherwise, there would be way too little time to develop them if they just appear around episode 10. Of course, unless this is a two-cour series, which would be amazing.

Hana's realization that she's not the same as when she was a kid was nice. She's more confident now and hopefully will integrate better in the class.

Hana trying out to find the right clothing to use while worrying about the little things was ultra cute. Truly heroine material!

I'm definitely going to start reading the manga once the anime finishes airing. There are 14 volumes available right now, so there's plenty to dig into once the anime has exhausted its content, and hopefully, it's just as good as the anime has been so far.
