Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu Ep.08 - Turus Arc, what does she have with Spica?!

Episode 8 of Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu delivers another power-up/training episode, with the girls participating in a camp where seven different teachers require them to perform certain feats to pass their classes. It was a mostly lighthearted episode filled with comedy and cute scenes centered around Spica and the other girls.

Hana continues to be at the forefront of interactions with Spica, thanks to the bond the two built during their last test together. It was delightful to see Hana dressed in male attire while trying to dance with Spica. The attempt failed tremendously (see attached video), but it still provided plenty of opportunities for nice screenshots!

Turus Arc seems to be the enemy that Spica will be initially fighting in the next story arc. Is there hope for a reversal?

Hana works quite well in the role of the prince, just look at what a wonderful couple Hana and Spica look in this dance scene.

At the same time, there were a few interesting world-building elements, such as the spring that allows for the instant recovery of mana and the importance of "cross magic," which, as I expected, will be the central theme of Spica's growth. I anticipate that each story arc will focus on Spica befriending someone and then utilizing cross magic with them.

Essentially, Spica is a protagonist who goes around gathering allies by sharing experiences with them. I suspect the final goal is to get all 12 zodiac signs on her side to fight a major antagonist, but that is likely much further down the line after the anime has ended.

That's a nice magic, Yamada Pegasus. I didn't know I wanted to see Hana in male clothes, but now I do so thanks again! View video page

Other characters received a bit of development, such as the duo Cancer Tarf and Sagittarius Aldea Chiron, the perpetually sleepy Aries Ewe, and the smart Capricorn Capella. However, these felt more like passing mentions than proper introductions, so I expect them to receive full story arcs later on, much like Hana did.

The end of the episode also revealed the antagonist for the next story arc: the blonde and, admittedly, cute-looking Taurus Arc, who wears gothic lolita clothing. They seem intent on killing Spica, but there is still no practical explanation for this obsession.

Why do every scene Spica ends up into seems so...charged. Like damn, she looks good even just tired on the floor.

Hana continues to deliver even in this episode where she's not the protagonist anymore. Honestly great heroine for Spica

Claude doesn't seem to know anything either, but could it be connected to Spica's ability to restore Claude to his human form? Just what is hidden behind all these individuals taking an interest in a clumsy girl trying to learn magic? Hopefully, we get to see at least a few hints before the series concludes.
