Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu Ep.04 - Gemini Pollux is quite cute.

Episode 4 of Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu starts exploring the students in Claude's class one by one (even if we still have a few not introduced fully), starting with Gemini twins Pollux and Castor. As we know from the last episode, Castor and Pollux are two identities within the same person, which fits the Gemini zodiac sign.

Both have very similar personalities, though, so you wouldn't see much difference between the two aside from their looks and voices. I really like the boyish look of Pollux, but her personality can get quite rough when she's angry, so I'm standing by to see how she develops.

That's actually a good question considering what he forces Spica to do every single morning...

Spica, come on just fight back by undressing yourself, you should believe yourself!

The important detail revealed is how Pollux experienced the moment Claude became a cat and lost his power, becoming unable to help his students in their time of need. She doesn't know what actually happened, however, or the fact that he's a cat, and that is the source of most of her animosity toward him.

Adding to the mystery, we saw three individuals at the end of the episode who are clearly, beyond a shadow of a doubt, villains. They seem to be targeting Spica for her "rebirth magic," but there is no way they weren't involved in the whole Claude situation, too.

As usual Claude saves the day, but I'm sure at a certain point Spica is going to start shining too! View video page

Their designs scream, "We're the final bosses of this anime adaptation." We have the leader with a cape, a hidden face, and a tattoo on his neck which clearly is going to be the "surprise face" when the identity is revealed, a muscular, long-haired blonde guy with a tattoo above his eye, and a completely crazy-looking, middle-aged man with a top hat.

Also, is it just me, or did the overall animation quality drop quite a few notches in this episode? Especially when it comes to the definition of the characters' faces. Overall, it's still good and I like the design, but it created that weird sensation while watching the anime of feeling like "this is not right."

Spica really is protagonist coded, the poses, the lines, she gives off that aura almost always.

The weird part was when they showed her without the hand covering her chest and there was...well there wasn't something.

The next episode is titled "Spica and Aria," and it's definitely a must-watch. Judging from the episode preview, it seems to be focused on the relationship between the protagonist, Spica, and her best friend, Aria. And yes, the trailer gives off a big yuri aura, and I can't wait to see if they actually deliver more of Aria's feelings toward Spica.
