Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu Ep.06 - I knew it! Sasorijou Hana has potential!
Episode 6 of Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu continues right from where we left off with the first slice of the dungeon exploration and, as expected, the episode was entirely dedicated to developing Sasorijou Hana as a possible friend for Spica. Honestly, this was obvious given the whole tsun-tsun attitude she has displayed until now, but it became even more apparent after watching this episode.
She fits the template "I don't want to hurt people, so I keep them away from me" type; despite it being a cliché trope, it is still very fun when done well, which is the case here. Plus, the interactions with Spica are hilarious as Spica is completely unaffected by all her attempts to push her away.

The other students in Spica's class were present for some small comedy and battle scenes, but they felt more like background characters. That is not a bad thing per se, but I would have liked someone else to be involved in the attempts to reach Hana's heart.
The dungeon exploration is not over yet, as the two are facing an enemy that seems impossible to beat with their current mana reserves. Forced to retreat, they will need to find a different way to challenge the two-headed griffin, which leads us to the next episode.
The next episode is titled "Cross Magic," which will conclude this story arc and likely settle the beginning of the friendship between Spica and Hana. I don't think they are going to change her character, but she will likely be more willing to spend time with Spica, which is already a step forward.
The title suggests that there is an ability to perform magic by connecting two different schools of magic together, not as a mere mash-up, but as an actual combined move. I am not sure what the prerequisites are, though: a connection between their emotions? Friendship? Something else altogether?

This feels like an important element that we are going to see a lot of in the coming episode arcs, with Spica familiarizing herself with other characters and developing "cross magic" with them. I wonder if it is limited to two, or if we can have three, four, or five different magic users combining their magic, too.
