Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu Ep.22 - Aria is down! Now time to take her home Spica!

Episode 22 of Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoshitsu shows, as expected, the final result of the battle between Aria and Spica, ending in an overwhelming victory for Spica, who turns out to be the winner of the overall match. Honestly, I was expecting a third-party twist like I mentioned last week, but it didn't materialize.

On the positive side, they explored Aria's past, and I can see why she was traumatized and acted the way she did. Her father lived vicariously through Aria and wanted her to pursue his old dream, causing her stress and eventually a breakdown that her mother helped stop. The damage was done by that point, though...

Spica got the diamond and whoa it's a huge one. It's bigger than her hands, I wonder how much is it worth if sold...

This is a story that you've probably heard many times because it's not uncommon for parents to actually do that in real life, and it's pretty terrible. Encouraging a kid to have new experiences is important, but pressuring them to pursue your own dream is what a bad parent does.

Aria's trauma was triggered more strongly around Spica because Spica reminded her of her childhood, but honestly, I don't see the parallel here, so maybe I missed something. Sure, Spica is trying hard to excel at things and prove her worth, but she has NO ONE pushing her toward that; she wants to do it herself.

When everything seemed lost, the dolphin came to the rescue. Not exactly what I was expecting, but hey it worked so that's alright?! View video page

No other characters appeared in this episode aside from Aria and Spica, so I'm a bit curious about the others too. Did they all manage to get at least one gem to pass? What is their point status? It's going to be basically impossible to overcome Spica at 150 points, though...

The next episode will be about the two making their relationship even closer and cozier, at least if we go by the preview segment that aired near the end of the episode. We're getting near the end of the series, so I don't think we have enough time for another story arc. Will they end the adaptation on a cliffhanger?

Spica will never give up. Spica will never let anyone down. Spica will never desert anyone. *looks away*

Wet Spica looks cool too, honestly I thought we were about to lose when she was in the middle of the water. The dolphin wasn't expected believe me.

I'm definitely going to grab the manga once this is over; this has been one of the series I've been most interested in watching over the last few months. The story is interesting, the characters are charming, and the art style has that touch that balances between cute and erotic. It's never fully on either side, and... it just works.
