Psycho Pass S2 - Kamui, just how does he manage to do that?
Today I watched episodes 2 and 3 of Psycho-Pass Season 2, and it really managed to hook me completely. It was hard to stop watching after so many fast developments and well delivered cliffhangers.
The story continues with the criminal from the first episode suddenly completely resetting his Psycho-Pass hue, going back to non-criminal levels. This is supposed to be practically impossible according to the Sibyl System, and it only makes the system look even more frail than it already was in the first season. He is eventually killed by an Inspector with the Dominator when he makes another bomb explode, killing innocent citizens.
Casual outfit Akane so cute!Apparently, there is a guy called Kirito Kamui who goes around clearing the Psycho-Pass of people. This allows them to act in criminal ways before anyone can stop them. We saw this in action with the kidnapped Inspector who is currently under his control. He managed, through words alone (apparently), to lower the meter massively within a few seconds.
How he can do that is unknown at this stage, just as unknown as his motives. What is he trying to achieve by challenging the system openly? Is he trying to bring about a revolution like Makishima in the first season, or is there something else we don't know about yet?
Yeah, especially for a deranged guy.
Seriously though, want to punch her sometimes! It is also incredible how he managed to sneak into Akane's house completely undetected and write a message on the wall. It was so absurd that even the Sibyl System started to wonder if Akane was actually becoming insane and did it herself.
One thing I am suspecting is the medicine that was briefly shown at the beginning of the first episode, where multiple mascots were distributing items. That, combined with the fact that one of the new Enforcers (Sakuya Togane) is linked to a pharmaceutical company, is definitely suspicious.
Obligatory shower scene for Akane
The what? This is especially concerning considering that, according to the Sibyl System, Togane holds the record for the highest Psycho-Pass rating ever recorded in history. What kind of incident was he involved in to cause such a huge spike in the numbers?
Mika Shimotsuki (Akane's fellow Inspector) is also doing an amazing job at being an annoying person blinded by prejudice. It is like she is purposely trying to become the most hated character of the series without actually committing any crimes. I am curious to see where this will lead. She seems like a perfect candidate to see another Inspector fall to the Enforcer role...
Dead or Alive next episode?I am quite enjoying the new Akane we have seen so far. She is way more capable and her leadership is undeniable, yet she still retains the traits that made her so relatable and cute in the first season. I am curious to see when this story will intertwine with Kougami again, but considering there is also a third season, it may not be in the immediate future.
The ending was quite a cliffhanger, so I am looking forward to seeing what happens next. Will they manage to save the people trapped in that building, or will they become victims of this criminal?
