Sousou no Frieren Season 2 Ep.10 - Now third season? Macht of the Golden Land?!
Episode 10 of Sousou no Frieren Season 2 (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) completes the second season with another action-paced installment. Fern once again showcases her prowess with long-range magic by striking down a beast that was able to detect magic and avoid short-range attacks completely.
This episode did not change the formula that we've got used to and showed the lasting results of the Hero Party's travels in the form of a newly built bridge. Himmel provided the funds to the dwarf to finish the project, and he finally brought it to completion after all those years.

I have to say that the bridge did not look impressive or gigantic enough to require more than a century to build, so I found myself thinking, "Wait, that's it?" while they were talking about it. I am sure building it alone is not easy, but a hundred years? That seems hardly believable.
I laughed when Stark asked why Fern cared so much about him and she answered without a doubt, "It is because that is what Frieren would do". That response temporarily shot down the shippers and confirmed my suspicion that, at least for now, Fern views Frieren and Stark as family more than anything else.
It is no surprise that I really enjoyed this series, and I doubt many people find it bad either. It maintains high production quality, a good narrative, and the same charming characters we loved in the first season. Fern continues to be my favorite character because of the contrast between her serious, composed self and the little girl inside that occasionally surfaces, such as this week when pancakes were mentioned.
At the very end of the episode, they teased the potential focus of a hypothetical third season. They showed Denken preparing to enter the forbidden, sealed territory where Macht of the Golden Land lives. He is considered second only to the Demon King in terms of power and is one of the few mages who has managed to defeat Frieren.

The teaser indicates that a third season is a possibility, but it will all depend on how close the anime gets to the current content of the manga, which is currently on hiatus. Perhaps we will see something in late 2027 to give the author enough time to recover and resume serialization.
Update: Season 3 confirmed for October 2027. Woooo!
