Tai-Ari deshita. Ojousama wa Kakutou Game nante Shinai Ep.02 - That scene in the bed!

July 14, 2026 · 6:17 PM

Episode two of Tai-Ari deshita: Ojousama wa Kakutou Game nante Shinai honestly continues to impress with exactly the type of yuri that I love watching, which works on the undertones of two girls getting to know each other through another medium, be it hanging around or simply playing games, as is the case here.

The story continues from where we left off, with the ribbon that Mio lost becoming the catalyst for an investigation among the first-year students. In the end, it was ruled as "collective responsibility," and everyone received a penalty. Which, by the way, is prohibited under Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention in wartime, but I am not going to dwell on that.

You cannot image the fangirl screams I made at this scene, it was like the perfect scene. Especially as Mio was clueless

Aya, I understand that you weren't thinking straight, but what did you think your roommate would think in this situation?!

Joking aside, Aya wants to finish what she started, so she invites Mio to her room to defeat her in the video game and find peace of mind. To do so, she asks her own roommate to leave for one night (causing a hilarious yuri misunderstanding) and faces Mio.

From there, things move on, and after another misunderstanding or two, the relationship between the two is now solid as friends, with Aya starting to feel a bit more than that. It is just the beginning, but there is clearly a direction moving the story forward, even on the romantic side.

I have to say it, Mio's legs from behind give her a charm that I can't just explain with words. You know what I mean right?! View video page

For most of this episode, I was thinking to myself that THIS is what I felt was lacking in Kamiina Botan last season. That series had paper-thin character development and felt shallow, making their relationship completely uninteresting. Here, instead, they take their time to show WHY they are attracted to each other, rather than simply doing it because "it's destiny."

We know their motivations: Mio wants a friend, someone to share her love for fighting games, and Aya wants to reignite her love for fighting games while finding a place she can call home in this high-class lady school that is alien to her. These motivations clash and make them attracted to each other. That's it! That's the recipe.

Yes, that face is what I made for most of the episode watching these two get together and be close to each other.

There's some level of coziness in this scene that I simply can't see anywhere else. It feels 'natural' and warm to watch them side by side.

Now that the relationship between the two is solidified, it's time to add another character to the mix, and I wonder who is going to be the new focus next week. A new "ally" or someone who antagonizes them, like that girl with blonde hair who appeared in this episode?
