Yuusha no Kuzu Ep.11 - Now is Aki's time to shine! So that's why...

Episode 11 of Yuusha no Kuzu (勇者のクズ) delivers another action-packed installment. This time, however, the focus is entirely on the three heroines Aki, Yukine, and Sera while Yashiro acts as a mentor, guiding them to become stronger through a team-based approach.

Yashiro has a broken leg and a broken arm, so he cannot fight until the E3 repairs him. Consequently, the girls must find a way to survive on their own. The strategy, as established in the last episode, is clear: they must compensate for one another's weaknesses, allowing the three of them to function as a single, full-fledged warrior as long as they coordinate their actions.

Aki, Yukine and Sera minds have been stretched thin by all these events, hopefully they can relax in the coming episodes. They're still young girls after all.

Sera is a strong girl, still my favorite to this date both for looks and personality. It's hard to find a reasonable person in this world.

This works quite well, and the progress does not stop there. As seen in the attached video, Aki is even able to fight one-on-one against the powerful Id, provided she is guided by Yashiro through real-time mind reading. Of course, there are caveats, such as Id using a new arm, but it is impressive nonetheless.

We also learn that Yashiro was so annoyed by Aki since the beginning of the series because she reminds him of the hero he once strove to be. It is interesting, however, that Aki is shown trying to emulate him, apparently blind to the jaded person he has become at this point.

It was interesting to see that Id's skill showed Jougamine increase in level massively just because she was receiving orders from Yashiro. If she start to learn more she could reach those alone... View video page

I suspect there is a deeper connection between these two than simply her hearing about him from her father, but it is difficult to say for certain right now. The ending sequence depicts a young Yashiro meeting a young Aki, though it remains unclear if this is a real event from the past or something created specifically for the credits.

In the next episode, we will see the conclusion of this story arc, likely featuring the defeat of Levi and the reveal of a greater threat lurking in the background. It is clear that these monsters were merely experiments rather than the ultimate goal of the Half Dragon group.

Aki losing half of her face was tremendous, but they played it well in animated form by putting the mist-like effect of the E3 to cover it. Surely she'll be back to normal soon.

Yukine's obsession is quite strong in these episodes, I prefer her in the aloof state so I hope she'll be back to normal soon.

Hopefully, we can get a breather soon. There have been many heavy scenes over the last few weeks, so a more laid-back episode might help the mood before the story delves into another intense arc. I am hoping for a beach chapter at some point. *looks away*
