Yuusha no Kuzu Ep.10 - Lord Storm Coffin is here and she's really beautiful!

Episode 10 of Yuusha no Kuzu (勇者のクズ) finally reveals the Demon Lord Storm Coffin, who appears as an extremely beautiful woman in her late 20s. As a Demon Lord, she shows her nature almost immediately with a yandere-like smile and an extreme obsession with recruiting Yashiro.

It seems she was struck by him when she first saw him in battle and has been asking him to join her for some time now. Her reaction when Yashiro tries to protect Aki, Sara, and Yukine is clearly one of jealousy. Honestly, this signals even more trouble for the girls considering how powerful the Demon Lord is.

I can fix the Dark Lord Storm Coffin! She's just smiling, definitely not planning to murder me or anything! Just look how cute she is!

Apparently things are way more connected than expected between the girls and the whole half dragon thing. Yukine's past...

Sara was able to detect her power level (see the attached video) thanks to her ability, and she is in a completely different league compared to everyone else we have met so far. Even Yashiro admitted he is not sure he could beat her in a one-on-one match, as it would depend on the situation.

Her design is gorgeous, so I am definitely hoping she remains a recurring character. She does not seem to be a completely unreasonable Demon Lord like Amber Thorn and, given the right opportunity, she could even become an ally to Yashiro and the girls.

The world basically bends around Lord Storm Coffin so much Sera's power detect her as powerful. I wonder if there's someone even bigger than that, maybe Sera's dad? View video page

Yukine’s past was also partially hinted at through a brief flashback. It seems she encountered a monstrosity created with E4 by the Half Dragon group in the past, and she likely lost a family member to it. This experience caused her to go berserk during the episode and ultimately injure everyone around her.

It is interesting that the three girls all have some sort of connection to this incident and are not just bystanders. Is this what Ishinoo warned Yashiro about? In a previous episode, he explicitly told Yashiro to keep the girls around, but I was not expecting everything to be so interconnected.

Storm Coffin has that Victorian-age style in the way she moves and look and it looks great.

Time for the three girls to get a power up to stay in line with the power creep?

In the next episode, it seems the three girls will develop their own way to become stronger by combining their strengths and weaknesses to act as a single entity. Yashiro realizes this is the best way to make them more proficient in the short term. Perhaps they will become more useful this way?

Members of the Half Dragon group will also appear, as they apparently have their own objective, which may involve killing Storm Coffin. The series is slated for 24 episodes, so there is no ending in sight, but I am really excited about the developments. I should take a look at the original source material in the coming months to see if it is just as good.
