Zaako Zako Zako Zako Sensei Vol 5,6 - Ending was good, but I wanted more Chika!
Volumes 5 and 6 of Zaako Zako Zako Zako Sensei continue the story right from where we left off, with the three girls (Chika, Yuki, and Momoka) slowly getting more detailed in their approaches to Souichi. This led me to believe we were getting closer to the end, and it turns out that, yes, these are the last two volumes. It is kind of a shame, really, as I was getting attached to the characters and their antics.
The most important revelation of these volumes was, for sure, about Chika being the reason why Souichi started working as a teacher at that school. She used her status as the daughter of the director to introduce him to her father, and things moved from there. Souichi was in a bad spot before working as a temporary member of the cleaning staff at the school, and he was quite depressed.

Chika was sort of his savior, even though all she really wanted was for him to get interested in her. I think it was a nice addition to the storyline as it gives all the girls a reason for liking him so much, and Chika was the one who was mostly lacking a real reason aside from mere attraction.
Yuki also found her niche after Souichi's blood test reported abnormal values; she started acting like his personal doctor. She fed him proper, healthy food and guided him on what to do to adjust his values, all while, of course, studying the topic beforehand. She was adorable; just look at the picture I attached of her in the nurse dress!

The author also gave more attention to Momoka and her mother, Momoha. The two are complete opposites: Momoka has a glamorous body, while Momoha is small and flat. This, though, does not translate into results, as Souichi is far more influenced by Momoha despite her size. This is mostly a result of Momoka being essentially the "little sister" who grew up with him, making it hard for him to see past that persona.
Kasumi, the quiet and educated member of the cooking club, surprisingly took the lead near the end of the volume by declaring her feelings. She was refused, but she also received a promise that he would think about it again once she is an adult. I know this was included to make the other girls realize that they need to start moving, but I was happy she managed to say it out loud.

And yes, the ending is undecided. It ends with Yuki, Chika, and Momoka realizing that the others also like Souichi, so they need to be more aggressive if they want to be the "one," especially considering the lead that Kasumi now has. Lots of trouble on the horizon for Souichi, I guess.
Overall, I can recommend this series. It has the elements that always make me latch onto a series: some light comedy, some cute girls, and not-too-on-the-nose fanservice. Souichi was a good protagonist too—maybe a bit too passive, but I guess that is part of the role when you have three girls chasing you.

Now that this series is over, it seems like the author has started working on a new series titled "Isekai Elf-mura no Omawari-san," which seems like a huge jump compared to the purely school comedy we have had so far. I am genuinely curious and might give it a look once the first volume drops in August 2026.
