Story boring and complicated
Sometimes when reading through Reverse 1999 story it makes me feel about dropping it altogether. It tries way too hard to be complicated for the sake of being complicated and the story end up not making sense. And it's not the translation fault, even the japanese audio is pretty much spot on...
When it's good, it's good, but when it's bad...it just breaks the magic. I get distracted while reading and don't seem to be able to focus on it.
It's a shame though as the setting is one of the greatest between the gacha games I play...

Adele's life philosophy
Adele is absolutely my spirit animal, this line really hit me right in the feelings. Honestly, there’s no need for some grand adventure across the world if I can just have a calm, stable life in my own hometown. Sure, it might be boring, but it’s still comfortable, enjoyable, and way less risky. That said… it’s kind of hard to believe she’ll actually manage that. I mean, she has a pet red dragon casually sitting on her shoulder and can wield powerful magic like any arcanist. With that kind of setup, she’s basically destined to get dragged into something strange sooner or later.

A flowing feast Event
Ok time to drop everything and start reading the new Reverse 1999 event titled "A flowing feast" and then make a post if it's interesting enough to warrant an actual article. Hopefully it'll better than the last one as I'm still a bit bitter about it being that a bit boring.
The story seems to have moved into a France setting as the event is set in Paris following Adele, an arcanist also working as a taxi driver. I really liked the Vienna chapter with Kakania of the main story so maybe this one will be as good.

Temenos x Throne Intermission Cathedral
I entered with intermission chapter with light feelings as they were talking about stealing a treasure and you know that the combination between the thief Throne and the priest Temenos is kind of funny.
It ended up being way more plot heavy than I thought. What are they talking about here? Who is this woman sealed in the cathedral by the previous bishop? Why does she think we have a fire in us? Is it related to the overarching story (you know the recurring Galdera thing) or...? I'm quite confused right now as this came out of literally nowhere as a curve ball.
Just how much stuff was the bishop hiding? Before he died he was seemingly involved with so many plots across the different characters...

Intermission event Osvald with Partitio
An intermission event between these two was honestly unexpected. Octopath Traveler II clearly enjoys pairing characters who don’t seem compatible at first glance. Osvald and Partitio operate on completely different wavelengths: Osvald is an inward-focused scholar driven by obsession, theory, and the pursuit of new magic, while Partitio is an optimist whose adventures revolve around business and improving people’s lives.
At face value, it’s hard to imagine Osvald willingly involving himself in Partitio’s ventures. There’s nothing academic about markets or trade, and Osvald doesn’t strike anyone that would meddle with that stuff. But that contrast is exactly what makes the pairing compelling. Osvald’s analytical mindset brings an unexpected element to Partitio’s plans, while Partitio’s "for the people" perspective challenges Osvald’s tendency to detach himself from the world.

Ochette Ch.2 - Jerky as a currency seems nice
Now going through the second chapter of Ochette in Octopath Traveler 2. I nearly forgot how her city needed jerky to even stay at the inn and was used as currency for everything. It doesn't work on the other cities though Ochette!
The goal of Ochette is pretty simple here. She is to find another of the legendary creatures needed to thwart the disaster impending on the world and convince them to join our quest.
Of course this will inevitably lead to some battle though as these creatures will want to test Ochette and so on and so on...
Luna Route - Parallels between Luna and Asahi
Continuing with Luna's route in Tsuki ni Yorisou Otome no Sahou. Honestly this is on a completely different level compared to the other routes, I guess this is why she's the main heroine. It hits way different once you realize that the protagonist and Luna share so much in terms of childhood Trauma.
They are birds of the same feather, but at the same time they got a different way to cope with it. Luna is more proactive while Asahi is more passive.
Let's see how it completes!

Intermission events mechanic (Agnea/Hikari)
I didn't know Octopath Travelers 2 had special two-way stories in between. Basically it's chapters where two characters interact in more meaningful ways compared to small unvoiced banters we usually see. This is actually nice to develop more the characters backstories.
In this case it was an intermission between Agnea and Hikari revolving around a mysterious singer that seems to be connected to Hikari's home country of Ku.
In the first game they various party members felt like they never really met aside from gameplay reasons due to how detached their chapters were. This works great to fix that issue with the game.

Throne deep voice is quite cool
Yeah, I remember I liked her back when I started Octopath Travelers 2 6-ish months ago, but this kind of confirms it. Throne's voice and mannerism are just way too good, she has that "sensual aura" around her voice that really works together with her character design.
Throne story is also admittedly one of the most interesting with the whole thieves group and the "mother"/"father" elements and the seemingly recurring pattern of a child overcoming the current leaders and becoming the new ones.
Let's see if she can break the cycle.
Octopath Travelers Journal Start
It's time to start again playing Octopath Travelers 2, have been delaying it for so long I nearly forgot at what point of the story I was. The save file says 13 hours so I should be still in the early stages...
I see I've done all the characters first chapter and some of the second chapters too. I remember Throne and Ochette were my favorite characters overall in terms of story, but I was a bit soft on Agnea too because it's hilarious to see her destroying monsters with her kicks. Don't underestimate a dancer!

Release countdown (-5 days)
5 days-ish to the release of Arknights Endfield. I'm going to be in the first line playing it and I'm really curious about the story as I've tried to stay as spoiler-free as possible up to today. I know of the Factorio gameplay and the fact that they are trying to please multiple types of players, but that's pretty much it.
Hopefully it'll be a smooth launch without too many issues or instability. I know some may be inevitable, but I would like to avoid the disaster that Wuwa got in the first patch.

First encounter with Ash
Continuing on the story and, after what happened to the guy from Arrow story, I was expecting Ash to die too, but seems like I was wrong. Which is good as I like her design quite a bit and it's nice to have more cute female characters around (even though Ringo is still way better overall).
Apparently Ash was the girlfriend of Saizo while they were both Summoners trying to survive the waves of the war between groups. Eventually they failed to escape from that scary world, shame to be honest...

Mangetsu where are you?!
We're about to interview the current manager of the orphanage to see if he can give us hints about the journal and the whereabouts of Mangetsu. He seems to be an old operative of the Yatagarasu that "retired" and started working in this orphanage instead. It's honestly a bit suspicious because that doesn't feel like the organization you can simply "retire" from.
That little girl that was shown earlier in the scene is also likely an important character considering the custom model that really stood out compared to the generic models used by the other orphans.
Could she be a new playable character for later in the game? Or at least an important character going forward...

Safe House scenes are quite chill
I like how they just go back at chilling at the base like nothing happened right after the mission with the emotional battle between Arrow and his best friend now turned enemy. Sure there was a small segment with Arrow sulking around at the bar, but it was quickly solved by Ringo talking with him so it doesn't really count does it?
The chase to try and reach Mangetsu continues, but things are getting more complicated because apparently he's been monitoring our progress too. How can you try someone who can see through you and monitor you without even being able to detect him? Need some solid info from some external source.

Mangetsu has a crush for Arrow?!
No, I don't think Mangetsu has a crush for Arrow, but I had to pick the third choice in this specific scene just to make Ringo make everyone laugh a bit. Admittedly though, it's kind of scary to think that your life has been monitored all day long without you even realizing it was happening.
How did he manage to do that considering Arrow was around powerful entities that should've been able to detect Mangetsu spying? (Like Aion for example)
He seems to be the most mysterious character so far, way more than the relatively straightforward Iron Mask of which we know the objectives of.

Mangetsu photos of Arrow
Whoa whoa why does Mangetsu know about our what we were doing and even has photographic evidence? (see the picture of Ringo resurrecting Arrow)
Is someone spying on us as we're playing through the game? Why is Arrow that important to get all these photos? Aion referred to him at the beginning of the game as an important person to prevent the end of the world so he has to be special, but so far he has not shown any particular special power since he lost his covenant.
There's so many questions and very little answers...

Don't leave me Sandrone! Not yet!
I need to mentally prepare for what's going to come in Genshin in a few days. Hopefully they make it clear that Sandrone is coming back a few patches later or I'll be sad...
The leaks all seem to point out that she won't be released until June/July in a specific story dedicated to her which is quite a long wait. I really just want to see them together happy just playing around teasing each other like in the other patch.
Also is she going to be Electro like the leaks seems to imply? She currently has more of a "physical" look, but maybe with the redesign...

Stella Sora Firenze character design
Honestly not a huge fan of this new character design for Stella Sora. She's dark element apparently (which is the first character we got of that element aside from the standard characters). I wonder if I should skip and wait for the next limited character instead, rolls aren't that plentiful in the game and considering I'm F2P i need to evaluate properly which character to get.
I could technically get her failing the guarantee and then getting the next unit for few rolls, but that's kind of a gamble...

Hangout base thoughts
There's one chair available (ignoring the one where Milady is supposed to be sitting), I wonder who's going to be the last character to join us...
I'm eyeing the only girl in the orphanage that shows with a special model and portrait. It was way too suspicious that she was the only kid that actually had one so she has to be important to the story going forward.
Maybe not playable, but definitely she'll have a major role in the plot, hopefully nothing tragic as I'm really weak to those cute characters dying or having a bad time...

Ringo really doesn't like the physical body
Ringo really is against the whole physical body thing isn't it? She made multiple remarks about it being "uncomfortable" compared to when she was part of Aion, but honestly girl just accept it. It's an amazing body to be honest, really like the character design. I should personally thank Aion as they did a great job producing it!
Joking aside, they did a great job with Ringo design, she has that futuristic look to put her out compared to the normal humans while also looking attractive to the eye. Figue design is also good even though those flashing legs are...
