Discovery of Safe House
I guess this safe house will be the base from which all the operations of the team will start from. Sort of a hangout for the characters in between the missions where you can rest and maybe adjust your equipment. Probably we're going to get most of the lighter tone stories happening here while they're eating or just simply talking.
I wonder if it's safe to use the old base of Arrow though, wouldn't the people who targeted him already know where he was hidden?
Ringo Soul Hacking Explained
Seems like Aion developed a technique (that Ringo can use) to hack into the soul of the recently deceased called Soul Hacking (which fits considering the game) and revive them as long as they agree to it in a limbo-like exchange with Ringo.
These individuals get bound to Ringo completely and lose their contracted demons (that switch owner to Ringo instead), but I guess it's better than dying. Curious to see how many characters we get in total playable. Will they be just enough to fill the party or will we have extra character we need to slot in and out depending on situation?
Gameplay thoughts
The gameplay seems to be similar to all the other games of the devil summoner/megami tensei series, even the skill names are pretty much the same of what we're used to (Agi, Agilao, Maragi, etc...). So far so good, you go around fight demons and eventually try to small talk some of them into joining you to bolster your army of demons for all the needed situations (all enemies have different weaknesses that you need to exploit).
I'm guessing the demons will be able to be merged too creating that pokemon-like minigame where you want to "catch them all". I'm not huge into collecting, but I can see why people like that.
Let me continue and see where it goes from here.
Aion, that smells like a huge powerful AI system
Ok started now with Soul Hackers 2. Seems like the story follows Ringo which is an entity created by a supercomputer called Aion that oversee the entire world as a sort of "observer". They detected something that could destroy it so they want her to investigate and stop these bad actors before things run out of control completely.
The idea is that there are a few key persons that need to survive and Ringo/Figue need to reach them and save them before they die at the hands of the villains.
I have to say that Ringo's voice in japanese is so soothing that I could listen to her for hours.
Death End Re Quest 2 Journal Completion
I completed Death End Re Quest 2 just now (it was downright amazing). I really got angry once we got to know the truth behind Mai's situation and the real culprit behind all this madness...
Thankfully it was an happy end so Rottie and Mai can be happy together. I'll write a post on it soon that you can read on the main blog.
For your information, the next game I'm going to start is Soul Hackers 2.
I found a good offer in a shop online and I heard good stories about it online so gotta try myself. It's an Atlus game so I'm not too worried as they usually are high quality.
So many bad ends at once!
I think I'm nearing the final bits of Death End Re Quest 2 and it's been an amazing journey with the mystery and tension. The amount of "bad end" scenes kind of makes me lean on the "we're going to reset everything" as final ending for the game otherwise there would be problems in making the third game be a continuity.
From what I've seen so far, both first and second are linked chronologically and they are part of the same story so I would guess the third one will be as well. I can't wait to play it too later on.
Escaping from the accursed city
They're about to try and escape from the city, this can't end well for sure. Rottie's mom is the main suspect for everything right now, but I'm sure there's more to it considering the whole setting.
She is definitely evil and is definitely doing horrible things, but she doesn't feel like a "mastermind" type of character. There has to be someone behind her controlling the events in this city. Just who it is is the question. It has to be someone we already saw though as it would be weird to add a new character this late in the game.
Bond Story System (Astra bond stories)
I've recently been trying to finish the bond stories of ZZZ (this particular screenshot is about Astra), but it's not easy because you can't simply binge them in one sitting as they're locked behind bond levels and you can only do three bond missions a day forcing you to do it regularly which I'm not really good at doing.
Astra's stories were cute and I like the whole concept of the super star trying to hide her identity while seeing you. But I still think Vivian still takes the cake between those that I played so far (I'm a sucker for the dedicated type of girl). There's still quite a few bond stories I haven't played though so that may change...
Connection between Mai and Arata
Oh, that's the first solid connection to the first game of the series aside from Shina being present. Apparently, back when she was at her father home, Mai hacked in the Enigma Games servers and got discovered by Arata that left her with a file that she kept up to this day. That file was the key needed to unlock the laptop that they found in that house.
I'm still totally confused if this is a virtual world or reality after they mixed as we saw in the epilogue of the first game though.
The monsters feel like something that would come out of a game, but with the pollution of the real world...we really couldn't tell can we?
Liliana introduction to the cast
Just give up Mai, Rottie is right! You should headpat and hug her all day!
Liliana has been a great addition to the main cast so far, she's sort of a more taciturn and shy girl. It brings a good contrast to the extremely energetic Rottie and the taciturn, but aggressive Mai. As far as I understand, these three are the only new playable characters that we get in this game, all the others are returning characters from the first game in virtual form (even though only Shina really appeared for real in the world).
Sparxie (Hibana) announcement!
They finally announced the new Sparkle (Hanabi) alternate character getting released in patch 4.0. Her new name is Sparxie (Hibana)! Seems like she'll be in the second half of the patch and will be in the Elation path (it's a whole new path that they're adding with the 4.x patches).
The leaks I've seen show that her animations are really high quality (sort of a vtuber vibe). Hopefully they'll keep up this level for the entire patch cycle. I don't want to see too many reused assets like they did in the 3.x patch cycle.
Rottie x Mai yuri is the best thing ever!
Yeah, after playing a bit more I can officially say that Rottie is so damn yuri for Mai. The game continues to tease us with Rottie approaching Mai and her refusing her advances, but we all know that she's going to get softer and softer over time and eventually...
Or at least I can dream right? I like when stories shows these light yuri scenes, but never actually go through with it and is more left to be innuendo and light comedic scenes.
Death End Re Quest 2 does exactly that and the fact that most of it is focused around ONLY Rottie and Mai it makes the impact even bigger as you have time to actually know and love the characters.
Death End Re Quest Journal Start
The next game in line to play is Death End Re Quest 2. I loved the first game (I'll make a post about it soon) and I'm quite interested in knowing how they can continue from the quite shocking ending of the first. Both Rottie and Mai seems to be extremely charming characters so far and I love their interactions.
The setting is kind of creepy though, but I guess it's a given considering the genre. Hopefully no more trauma scenes like we got in the first game, some were really hard to read through...

Happy new year! Let's pray 2026 will be another great year with lots of fun!
There's a lot of things I'm looking forward in this upcoming year. Arknights Endfield is going to get released soon, then we have the second season of Sousou no Frieren and Sasaki to Piichan. We're also waiting for Planarcadia in Star Rail soon! And let's not forget about the various manga series that I'm following!
I'll try my best to make this small place on the internet feel alive with my articles and impressions. I still have lots of plans on how to improve the interface and usability of this website too.
Liliweiss past being revealed
Seems like the new event of Nikke will go back in time again to see more of the story from the point of view of the Goddess squad. This makes sense considering the events of Goddess Fall showed Liliweiss becoming controlled by some other entity.
At this point we still don't know exactly what killed her in the first place. She was supposedly the strongest Nikke in existence and when the entity took control of her body it was in perfect conditions...
Hopefully they'll clear out all these doubts in this event and give us more to prepare for the upcoming main content chasing back her body and freeing her.
Cosmos in the Lostbelt Story Ending
Just finished the FGO Cosmos in the Lostbelt storyline. It was an amazing ride and a good ending even though...I'm still doubtful that this is really the end of it. As it stands right now the ending is basically a full reset that basically makes our entire journey "never existed in the first place" with both Mash, Fujimura and Olga Marie living their life normally like if they never met. It's not like I don't like the idea, but it feels like a cheap way out instead of trying to justify the absurd things that happened over the years.
Hints lead me to think that they are preparing something big that will happen on the 31st of December and I can only imagine it'll lead to the fabled "part 3" even though who knows what it'll be all about.
Lots of speculations around the Foreigner chapter and other ideas, but well...only a few more days and we'll know!
Ye Shenguang will be a void hunter
More leaks coming in for the upcoming story chapter of ZZZ. Some of these screenshots looks very sad and I hope nothing bad is going to happen to Ye Shunguang. She's supposedly a newly appointed Void Hunter, surely she can do something to avoid the worst possible outcome.
I'm also curious to see what role her brother will have, he is still staying away from the main group despite not being under control from anyone. Does he know more than we do about the whole situation around his sister? Was she really chosen by the sword or is there any other machination?
Sasha is extremely smart
It's time to get back into action and go into Yuushe's route of Tsuki ni Yorisou Otome no Sahou! Sasha already knowing (since the very first day they met) that the protagonist was actually a male was kind of hilarious. Asahi tried so hard to hide his identity and yet it was plain visible to one of the characters.
Of course Yuushe was completely oblivious to the whole thing, but I don't think any of the girls actually suspected anything until much later in the story. Though in their defenses, Asahi looks like a perfect girl, I would've been fooled too.
New Chapter dropping in! Time for commander!
Oh right, a new chapter dropped in Heaven Burns Red just today. I really should get around in reading that too. It seems to be focused on the commander leaving the commander post to go back to a more active role in the military.
Why she decided this is still unknown, but we'll probably manage to see more glimpse of the past through her eyes. Considering her age she's supposedly seen many many generations of Hito-Navi fighting for humanity. It's a miracle she didn't lose hope after seeing so many of her friends and direct reports "dying".
Thoughts about Millia's strife
Looking back at Last Exile Ginyoku no Fam anime in retrospective makes me think a lot about Millia in a way I didn't really had the time to focus on while watching the series because I was just too focused on the emotions I had in the immediate. She's in my opinion that character that changed the most over the course of the series and also feels like the most tragic one.
Not simply because of the events that happened (there's surely plenty of other tragedies in the series), but about the fact that she was just thrown around by the people around her. She never asked for any of this! It's not like Liliana that actively moved to join the other party trying to achieve her vision. It's not like Luscinia that had his plan of vengeance over the death of her loved ruler. It's not even like Fam or Giselle as they both jumped in the story of their own volition when they had the chance to stay away from it.
Millia was just there and her entire life went crashing on her, the destruction of her homeland, the death of her father, the separation from her sister and many many more. Yet after a brief moment of grief, she stood there and tried to do the best for the people around her.
I wonder what happened in the aftermath of the story, was she able to find love? Has her grief for the loss of her family subsided over time? I would definitely read a small story just talking of an aftermath set in the far future showing what happened to them...
