Champignon no Majo Ep.03 - Cursed child. Why did Luna grow out of it though?

I just finished watching Episode 2 of Champignon no Majo, and it really left me with a lot of questions about the setting. But let's start by talking about exactly what happened in the episode. The story continues from where we left off, with Luna discovering a dying teen stabbed by a sword floating down the river.

Luna decides immediately to help, even though her familiars are all somewhat against it. The reason for Luna's actions does not become evident until later, when the teen is discovered to have a huge cursed magical mushroom inside him, which is beyond anything we have seen in previous episodes.

Understandable and it would even sound reasonable if you didn't look that silly

Luna is such a stunning witch!

Luna tries to absorb it to save the teen but fails. She is forced to ask for help from a mysterious Light Mushroom in the forest, which explains that the teen is a "Cursed Child" and is apparently the one who will "end it all". The mushroom absorbs the curse for Luna and allows her to return home.

Back there, she is faced with a shrunken teen (now looking like a 6 or 7-year-old) and the full Black Witch Council, who are there to judge her actions. They state that they cannot allow the child to live, or the world will end. While explaining the situation, they reveal (leaving the viewer on a cliffhanger) that Luna was a Cursed Child herself, and that is likely what caused her to relate to the kid.

I wonder if this giant light mushroom is the reason why she became the Champignon Witch in the first place when he absorbed her poison. View video page

Now the first questions that appear in my mind are: "How did Luna grow out of being a Cursed Child?" and "Why would this child not be given the opportunity to go down the same path?". Even assuming that there is a risk, we have a living example of someone who went through it and survived, so... why not show clemency?

I am also not completely sure that Luna really defeated the curse, because the other witches do not seem to know about or acknowledge the Light Mushroom that Luna used to neutralize the curse within the kid. That mushroom said that "he will take over the curse as long as he lives", which is fine, but what happens once he is dead? Does the curse go back to the child and Luna?

I know it too! You're cute!

Her using the light beads to entice the crow was...pretty underhanded.

That would basically make Luna and the child a time bomb for the entire world, which is kind of scary. Though honestly, it is hard to take the Black Witch Council seriously because of their extremely silly outfits; Luna looks like a serious person when compared to that group.

I am looking forward to seeing how Luna manages to defuse the situation next week with the council. We know for sure that the kid will survive, but what conditions will the council place on them?
