Champignon no Majo Ep.10 - Henri grew up so much! White witches...
Episode 10 of Champignon no Majo continues by finally revealing one of the white witches responsible for managing the country, who is likely connected to the death of the Cat black witch as well. I suppose it is time for me to pull out my "book of grudges" and record this.
Apparently, a tremendous amount of negative energy has been drawn to the city, causing a state of pure panic as the situation spirals out of control. Luna is asked for help by the bookstore owner and decides to journey to the city, despite Claude’s warnings that it is safer to stay away.

Once she arrives, the villagers inevitably begin throwing rocks at Luna because they are frightened by her mushrooms and rumors linking her to the catastrophe. These are, of course, nothing more than rumors, but medieval-style villagers often prioritize finding a scapegoat over solving the actual problem.
To make matters worse, a white witch appears and binds Luna with a vine, ordering an attendant named Henri to take her to the cells for what would likely be a later execution. Henri initially obeys but then leads her to safety. He explains that he uses his inability to perform magic as a way to work around the system and assist captured black witches.
He no longer has memories of his past love story with Luna, but he still feels a connection to her in these moments, which was touching to see. I was quite shocked to see how much time has passed between the two events. While I remembered there was a time skip, seeing the effects of it is very different from simply knowing it occurred.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Lizel observes Luna talking closely with Henri. We all know that, at this point, Lizel is in love with Luna. How will he react to seeing his beloved Luna still clearly in love with a mysterious man he has never seen before? Will this cause his dark feelings to emerge, leading him to become the "cursed child" as the prophecy says?

I am also curious to see what happens with that white witch. Considering we are nearing the end of the season, he could serve as a sort of final boss. I doubt they would introduce a new character only to ignore him entirely. The real question is how this will all intertwine with Lizel’s path.
