Jingai Kyoushitsu no Ningengirai Kyoushi Ep.11 - Haruna, Maki and Aoi!

Episode 11 of Jingai Kyoushitsu no Ningengirai Kyoushi (A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans) delivers the backstory we were waiting for regarding Hitoma's trauma. As expected, given the theme of the school, it was exactly what many anticipated since the beginning.

Haruna was a normal schoolgirl who was manipulated by a wealthy bully into doing things for her. She found solace in talking with Hitoma in his room and spent most of her time there. Eventually, the bully grew tired of her and, upon seeing her with someone else, shifted from exploiting her to bullying her outright, which caused Haruna to begin breaking down.

Yeah, that's the standard pattern of bullying Haruna. Would've been better if school wasn't into it too...

To think Hitoma remembers the writing style of every single student. That takes quite some dedication...

Hitoma tried to intervene, but the school was in cahoots with the bully because money talks. The administration ended up manufacturing a situation to expel Haruna and force Hitoma to resign. Neither Haruna nor Hitoma was at fault, so there is nothing to resolve on their end, nor is there any sense of recovery since the humans responsible for this remain scot-free.

This followed a generic script for these situations that I have seen hundreds of times in various Japanese media. The last time I saw something similar was a few months ago while going through the Heaven Burns Red storyline, albeit that one was narrated better.

Aoi has such a princely aura! Joking aside, Haruna acting like the standard classic teacher was hilarious considering the circumstances. View video page

I am confused about what they are trying to achieve by adding Haruna to the cast. Even with her present, it will not fix Hitoma's trauma, as his pain is linked to the fact that some humans, like the other teachers and the school board, are truly garbage. While they can become friendly again, does that really do anything to solve the root problem?

Overall, I liked Haruna's character from the high school flashbacks, so I welcome her addition as a heroine. I am curious to see how she will interact with the other students. Hopefully, she will not act too much like a standard teacher, as she did during her first encounter with Aoi at the end of the episode.

Is it me or the woman of this series are tiny? Like the difference between male and female is massive here...

Miki looks pretty good here, curious to see what is she based on. From looks alone I can't guess...

Speaking of which, we also saw the introduction of the last two demi-human heroines. The first is Aoi Wakaba, who acts like a typical "prince" character and is fawned over by many underclassmen. The other is Miki Okonogi, who only spoke briefly in this episode and appears to be a gal.

There are only two episodes remaining, and I wonder what the plan is. Will they continue focusing on Haruna to wrap up her story, or will they attempt to resolve the backstories of the two new heroines first? Given the limited time, I expect something will have to be left out.
