Kirei ni Shite Moraemasu ka Ep.03 - That shadow on the rooftop was her past?
Episode 3 of Kirei ni Shite Moraemasuka / Wash It All Away (綺麗にしてもらえますか) continues by slowly revealing a few more moments of Wakana's day. The episode starts with something that honestly surprised me: the cleaning shop was closed, and the ladies waiting outside were worried that something bad might have happened to Wakana.
Kyuushou (the high school boy) was asked to climb a tree and check from the window if everything was alright with her. He manages to do that and finds Wakana on the ground with some pills near her and a half-drunk glass of water. My first thought was, "Whoa, does she have some sickness and need pills to survive?"

Thankfully, it was nothing of the sort. It turns out she drank a lot the day before due to an invitation from Asami and ended up oversleeping. The pills were just something Asami gave her. It was kind of a shock for the boy, as well as the fact that Wakana was downright gorgeous even when half asleep (see the attached video for proof).
Asami seems to be pushing the "don't fall for her" angle on Kyuushou, but honestly, he doesn't seem to be that involved yet. Plus, how old is Wakana again? Look-wise, I would say early 20s, but considering it is anime, she could easily be in her late 20s, so the age difference would be way too harsh.

The cloth that was the focus of the last episode didn't seem to result in a flashback or anything more than the old woman thanking Wakana for the great job and asking her to bear with it if Neiro calls her again for something else. I guess that is fine, as the series wants to focus more on Wakana's life and less on the customers' items.
This is also proven by another scene that seems to be the first real hint regarding her memory loss situation. She climbed onto the rooftop, as she apparently does often, to listen to the sound of the city or to see fireworks and relax. For a split second while thinking about those moments, she saw herself with dirty clothes and a depressed, crying face.
The question I have is: was it BEFORE or AFTER the memory loss? I am guessing it must have been right after the memory loss, as she must have felt extremely lonely and disoriented in that situation. Waking up with no relatives, no memories, and a business to manage must have felt overwhelming to her.
It will be interesting to know how she managed to recover from it. Did she just "live through it," or was some event the key for her to recover and keep the cleaning business going? Honestly, I am quite invested in her story and really hope we get somewhere with the revelations during this anime adaptation. (I will read the manga later on anyway, though.)

I am looking forward to the next episode. Will we get a few more glimpses into Wakana's past? It was probably a joke, but it would be fun if she actually joined the volleyball team too.
