Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu Ep.03 - Ewe and Hana looks good, but Spica and Aria are still...

Episode 3 of Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoushitsu officially enters the school segment with Spica enrolling while still being forced to give daily kisses to Claude to keep him in human form, as it expires daily or if he uses a major spell. It is a form of torture for the poor girl, but a small price to pay for the honor of being a student at this school.

This episode focused on the introduction of the many characters that are going to be part of this series, and as expected, all of them are linked to a particular zodiac sign. We have, of course, Spica Virgo, our main heroine and probably the best protagonist I've seen in a while. Being around her is just way too much fun.

Spica, are these common occurences where you live? Can I join? I don't want to say anything, but...

Spica's reaction to Io's bust size was hilarious. Poor girl, she couldn't even dream of matching Io.

Then there is Aria Aquarius, whom we already knew from the previous episodes; she is the clear yuri partner of Spica, and nobody is going to tell me otherwise considering her behavior when around her. Then we have Taurus Io, a beautiful, older-looking girl who shocked Spica when she revealed she's the same age as her; she uses magic that allows her to grow in size.

As for Gemini Castor and Pollux, we only saw Pollux for a brief moment, but it seems like one of those cases where it's two people in "one body." I say "one body" because it seems like they can switch places at any time, and the body of Pollux is fully female while Castor is fully male, so...

Pull or Push? Spica, this is your moment to shine as a yuri protagonist. You don't get into these situations every day, just do it! View video page

Libra Astraea is a womanizer (son of the director of the school) who tries his lines on every single female he sees. He can avoid hits quite smoothly thanks to his magic, which allows him to predict movement. Regulus Leo is a muscular girl who uses physical strength augmentation as her primary magic and can easily trash a room.

We also got a small showing of Sasorijou Hana, the Scorpio zodiac, who looks like a fairly normal, plain schoolgirl with black hair and brown eyes. She seems annoyed at everything when she talks and can use magic that stuns everyone around her (including allies).

Ewe looks cute even when sleeping salivating all around. Is it because she's Aries?

Cat Spica is ultra cute, can I get her home? I'll treat her well, feed 3 meals a day!

Aries Ewe, on the other hand, is a cute girl with blonde hair who seems to be almost always asleep, but is highly intelligent. We haven't seen her magic in action yet, unless it's related to her knowledge. There are other characters, though, that were only mentioned or briefly shown—like Cancer Tarf, Pisces Merrow, and Capricorn Capella—who I guess will get some screen time next week.

The episode itself presented Claude as the teacher of these troublesome students, and his goal is to make them all graduate and become proper magicians. It is not an easy task, especially considering he reverts to a cat quite easily, forcing Spica to endure extreme embarrassment.

Honestly the cutest screen of the episode, just look what a nice relaxed smile Spica is doing.

I haven't forgotten about you Aria, I have great expectations from your yuri energy in the coming episodes.

I have to say, after three to four weeks since the beginning of this season, I can say that this is the best of all the series I've been following. The comedy is on point, the character designs are basically in my strike zone, and the story never manages to bore me. I'm excited to see what they deliver next week.
