I just finished watching episodes 2 and 3 of Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru (魔術師クノンは見えている), which completes the "compulsory school" arc already and moves toward the next target for Kunon's growth. Technically, Episode 2 was available last week, but I completely missed it, so here we are covering two episodes in one post.
The story continues from where we left off, with Kunon acting on his father's suggestion to take the compulsory education exams and graduate as required from all noble children. He goes together with his brother and Mirika, who is also studying to graduate. It is more of a formality, though, because Kunon's level is already beyond what that school teaches.

There, he meets his first "antagonist" in the form of Mirika's older brother, Prince Lyle, who tries to act like a jerk in front of everyone, but his plan backfires quickly. He did not feel like a real antagonist, though; he seemed more like a kid with issues due to his family situation and his position in the line of succession to the throne.
The whole court succession situation was explained a bit by Mirika after meeting with Lyle, but it looks like she is way too far away from the top of the line for it to be relevant to the plot in these early stages. It could become more interesting once Kunon grows up and is ready to take over some family duties, though.
Due to the influence of Iko, Kunon has practically developed the personality of a womanizer, and it is really hilarious to see him interact with other people. He also seems to have an incredible affinity with Mirika, as seen in the many scenes of them playing together, even though they do not really look like a couple but more like close friends at the moment.
I am also curious about the whole Cerulean Sorcerer title. Jenie thinks that Kunon has a chance of becoming one, but what exactly are the requirements to be appointed? Is it purely an academic reward after reaching certain objectives, or is it something more political involving the King?

In the next episode, Kunon will go to meet with the Royal Magicians and possibly learn more about magic in general in order to reach his objective of building his own set of eyes. Hopefully, he will also meet someone who can act as his teacher for the time being, now that Jenie has decided to move on from her teaching job.
My bets that we're going to see another school arc at some point in the future as this one was way too short and felt more like a prologue of sort to introduce some other characters. We also need many more characters as there's only so much you can do with just Mirika and Iko as recurring characters.

I look forward to seeing what Kunon will learn at the castle. Will he find his new teacher to further his understanding of magic?
