Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru Ep.07 - Truth behind Kunon's new eyes. Saint?!
Episode 7 of Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru (魔術師クノンは見えている) continues from where we left off, with Kunon finally being able to see and exploring the world and the people around him. The issue is that his new magical eyes can also see things that other people cannot, like the gigantic crab always following him or the horn on Iko's head.
Zeonly speculates that Kunon may be able to see the soul form through his eyes, or that the eyes simply cause him magical pollution similar to what he once experienced in a certain forest. I am leaning toward thinking that it is neither of those things; rather, he is just seeing the world more accurately, and those things simply exist.

This is a slight spoiler (as I read some bits from the webnovel long ago), but while the true nature of his new magical eyes is never fully revealed, he was also able to see other things that are not attached to humans. Interacting with them changed the reality that everyone else experienced. This means it cannot be just the soul form, but must be a more generalized, different kind of sight.
It was hilarious to see him become very sarcastic at every revelation about the people around him. I am really liking his personality, and his voice actress, Saori Hayami (who also voiced Miyuki from Mahouka, for example), is doing an amazing job portraying his reactions.
Now that he is finally old enough, the childhood arc is over, and he has departed for the magic academy where many new adventures await him. The only shame is that Mirika will take a backseat for a long time now, as the focus will shift to the almost completely new cast being introduced.
The next episode will cover his arrival at the city where the academy is located. There, Kunon will face his first trials and perhaps meet a few of his new classmates. One of them is the saint from the screenshot I attached, and I am looking forward to seeing him interact with her.

Will he manage to make friends with his extremely gentlemanly personality, or will he just end up creating misunderstandings among the ladies? The preview segment shows Iko hugging him tight, so I wonder if he is feeling a bit homesick. He is still a young child, after all.
