Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru Ep.05 - Zeonly was quite easy to tame. Kunon has no mercy!
Episode 5 of Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru (魔術師クノンは見えている) continues from where we left off, with Kunon in "waiting" mode for his new teacher to be selected. While waiting, he had a nice dinner with his fiancée, Mirika, and spent a bit of time bonding with his maid, Iko.
The dinner scene was extremely cute, with Mirika being head over heels for Kunon to the point where she was restless while waiting for him to pick her up. Even her attendants were having fun watching her reactions. She is supposedly older than him, but you can see the child in her whenever Kunon is mentioned.

The teacher who arrives at Kunon's mansion is named Finroll Zeonly, an overly confident and talented magician with a typical "handsome" face. He is a three-star magician attuned to the earth element (for reference, Kunon is a two-star magician attuned to water).
He was selected specifically from the head of the magicians to teach Kunon despite princess Resha and the other students also wanting Kunon as their disciple. Seems like he's extremely popular in the kingdom to the point that even Iko knows about him and his exploits.
He seems arrogant at first, but once he sees the real talent inside Kunon, he accepts the role of his teacher. He seems to be extremely fond of Kunon's water bed, just like the other magicians were last week. Honestly, just how good is it? I need to try a water bed myself, as I never have...
I can understand his point to Mirika, though. While Kunon fought back by attacking his personality and past to protect her, Mirika definitely has to make her own effort to try and match Kunon. While it is certain that he will never leave her for someone else, she shouldn't just be a decoration by his side.

Hopefully, his words will spark some competitiveness in Mirika, pushing her to start pursuing her own interests. It doesn't need to be magic; perhaps politics or property management would work, considering Kunon doesn't seem to be the right person to handle these types of affairs with tact.
Judging from the preview, the next episode will be centered around the new training that Kunon will undergo under Zeonly's tutelage. Are we getting closer to the moment when Kunon will start seeing something through his magic (even if it is probably incomplete to keep his quest ongoing)? It would be a good morale boost for Kunon to see a part of his goal materializing in front of him, making him even hungrier for knowledge.
