Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru Ep.11 - Bacon for everyone! Recruiting from the factions

Episode 10 of Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru (The Magician Kunon Can See) introduces a slew of new characters to the cast from the various student factions inhabiting the school. Honestly, there are so many new faces that I wonder if they are already planning a second season. It would feel like a waste if the series concludes in just two episodes after introducing so many people.

Apparently, the school's advanced class is divided into three student-led factions called Ability, Harmony, and Rationality. These three factions follow different approaches to studying and experimenting, and students tend to join one or the other depending on their own expectations. For example Harmony, as the name implies, foster relationships between students and collaboration.

The face on poor Reyes was hilarious, poor girl still kept eating because saving money is more important.

This is debatable as it's purely luck, but I see where they want to go with this.

It makes sense for these factions to exist because large-scale experiments require many people to work together. Having a stable, organized structure makes it much easier to achieve better results. You can think of them as being similar to the after-school clubs seen in many other anime series, but more organized and self sufficient.

Naturally, these three factions are all competing to recruit Kunon after seeing his incredible results during his first month at the school. To do this, they each pick a beautiful girl and send her his way to entice him. Based on their limited knowledge of Kunon, it seems like a perfect plan.

Think that the Saint of a country is now so money-aware that she would prefer eating a bad bacon sandwich as long as it's free. I wonder what the country she comes from think of this... View video page

The issue is that Kunon does not really care about that at all. Furthermore, the girls themselves were unable to resist the temptation of Kunon's water bed, which now includes special options for even better sleep. They ended up sleeping for most of the day, which only served to make Kunon richer without achieving their mission.

This eventually forces the actual faction leaders to take action, leading to a major conflict. Remarkably, all of this happens while Kunon is completely unaware that it is even a thing. He was even worried, wondering why nobody was trying to recruit him. It is not that he is necessarily interested in joining; he values his freedom and realizes that joining a faction might restrict it.

The very fact they sent beautiful ladies to try and recruit Kunon makes them feel smart. Clearly the best plan with a womanizer (alleged)

Who is this absolute cute girl appearing in the preview segment? She feels a bit tsun from looks alone, but different than Reyes

On the side we also see some progress for the others students surrounding Kunon and I quite enjoy watching all four of them (including Reyes) having lunch together to try. It gives that "friends at school" feeling that it was lacking up until now due to the lack of actual classes.

The next episode will introduce even more characters, and we might even get a brief glimpse of Mirika, likely through some letters. There is a cute blonde girl in the preview (see the screenshot above), and I am very curious to see what role she will play. She stands out quite a bit, so she must be an important addition to the cast.
