Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru Ep.13 - Ending was great. Mirika is so strong!
Episode 13 of Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru ( Kunon the Sorcerer Can See ) concludes the series with another standard episode focused on magic. Kunon continues to impress everyone by gaining access to all three factions in the academy simultaneously, an achievement that is apparently unheard of.
The challenge was simple: if he could defeat the advanced magicians from each faction, the girls who had been trying to scout him, he would be granted access to all three groups at once. Kunon provokes them into fighting all at once. This strategy succeeds because he uses a "one-hit sure win" move that would not have worked a second time. Had they stuck to the original plan of fighting him one at a time, he would have been hard-pressed to win.

The episode finishes with a brief look at what has been happening with Mirika's training too. It appears she is making great progress of her own. She is now capable of defeating knights without difficulty and, according to her, can even fight bears just as easily.
I am not certain that bears are appropriate targets for a princess, but her combat skill reinforces my theory that she may become a vanguard protecting Kunon while he casts his magic. I am unsure if the series will ever focus heavily on actual battles, as it has been primarily focused on magical discovery so far.
Overall, I enjoyed Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru much more than I expected to. Kunon has been an incredible protagonist, carrying the story with his unique personality and intense curiosity about magic. The supporting characters all have their own quirks, yet they are charming and interesting in their own right.
It is easy to recall memorable characters like Iko and Rinko, who are the source of Kunon's personality, or the mage teacher Kors Jenie, who is always seeking ways to keep her job. There is also the astounding Princess Mirika and the narcissistic new teacher, Zeonly Finroll, who uses Kunon to make money. More recently we have Reies who shares the whole "hero's scar" thing that prevent her from showing big emotions.

I am interested in seeing where the series goes from here, and I plan to start reading the light novels in the future. It may take a few months given my current backlog, however. Once I start them, I will be sure to write an update on this blog so that we can continue the adventure together with Kunon and the other characters.
