Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru Ep.12 - Entering all three factions?! Mirika is going to snap...
Episode 12 of Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru (Kunon the Sorcerer Can See) continues the recruitment arc that started last week. The three factions, Ability, Harmony, and Rationality, send a beautiful girl each to try and recruit Kunon to join them. While they tried last week, this time they are actually able to present their offers directly.
Kunon accepted the offers from all three girls, of course. However, this creates a problem because it sparks a conflict between the factions. Furthermore, the girls feel duped because he accepted one offer only to immediately accept the next one as well. We must remember that while Kunon may be a bit of a womanizer, he is certainly not stupid.

This leads me to believe that he intentionally joined all three because he wants to achieve a specific goal. Perhaps he simply wants to use the resources of all three groups depending on his needs. After all, why limit yourself to a single faction if you can work with any of them depending on the requirements of a specific experiment?
The school is meant to be a place for learning magic and conducting experiments, not for playing politics by forming factions and waging war on others to steal members. Still, I understand that people, especially children are naturally drawn to having a specific structure and leadership.
We also get a brief scene with Mirika, which is welcome since I was starting to miss her. She appears to be doing well, but the news that Kunon has made a new female friend, Reyes, makes her feel troubled and worried. I wonder how long it will be before she barges into the school to inspect Kunon’s actual situation.
It would be interesting to see her interact with Reyes, and I am sure they could actually become friends. Moreover, it is inevitable that the two will meet, considering they are both extremely important figures in their respective countries. Mirika is royalty, while Reyes is the Saint of the church in another country.

Next week brings the final episode of the series, and I am curious to see how they will conclude the story. There is simply not enough time left to explore another mini-story, so I suspect they will provide a quick scene for each of the existing characters before the final credits. I am interested in trying the light novel or web novel in the future, but I have not decided yet how to proceed.
