Marriagetoxin Ep.08 - Whoa, Kimie sort of stole the show for me. She's great.

Episode 8 of Marriagetoxin introduces Arashiyama Kimie and, at the same time, becomes the most intense episode of the series so far, combining the absolute cuteness of Kimie's personality and powers with action sequences featuring Gero finally fighting someone dangerous enough to put him in trouble.

When I first saw Kimie's design, I was uncertain because I'm not a huge fan of the "femme fatale" archetype, you know, lots of curves, an aggressive face, and so on. Then I saw her in this episode, and I was blown away by how big the gap was between her looks and her actual personality.

Kimie's smug face is so adorable. I would spend all day just looking at her doing all those expressions.

When I first saw her here she was like 'oh, a femme fatale', but turns out that was just appearance.

She's weak, indecisive, emotional, dramatic, and just pure, unadulterated fun to be around. Apparently, she comes from a family of "Masters" that use animals to perform assassinations, but her power is limited to controlling hamsters, which makes her useful only for espionage at best, so she ended up just working a normal 8-to-5 job.

Now, with the "Masters killer" on the loose, she wants protection and asks Gero to protect her. I don't know why Mei didn't latch on to this earlier, because she's absolutely the best marriage candidate for Gero; she's in the business and understands Gero's needs, but she's also normal enough in her daily life.

Admittedly, just hug her back Gero. Kimie's face was hilarious crying because Gero acted exactly like her fantasies of him. Poor girl, so much trauma. View video page

Her going back to protect Gero was quite cool; she was terrified and yet ready to fight. Piichi Nakagawa (the "Masters killer") turned out to be extremely overpowered, but he isn't really a threat, as he seems to be moving only to kill "evil" Masters. I'm not sure about the logic, to be honest, as they're all kind of doing the same job, but...

Next week, we'll see the invasion of Animal Island, the base of these Masters to save Kimie from the poison. While I'm sure Kimie is going to be saved and join the list of potential marriage partners for Gero, I'm curious about what the enemies are actually planning and who is directing Piichi to kill them.

Just look at her face, she's so adorable. Kimie is clearly the best heroine so far when it comes to personality.

Fear and yet courage to fight back, Kimie is such a good heroine! Hopefully she gets a special spot in Gero's list.

This feels bigger than just the animal families, and there is probably someone (perhaps the machine-like guy from last week) pulling the strings in the background. That would be a good lead for the final story arc, with all the heroines showing up for a final burst of action and fun.
