Seihantai na Kimi to Boku Ep.07 - Miyu is jealous?! Ok, that ending was...

Episode 7 of the anime series Seihantai na Kimi to Boku (正反対な君と僕) delivered a hilarious curveball that I wasn't expecting at all. The episode is mostly dedicated to the advancement of Yamada and Nishi's relationship. While their progress is definitely very slow, considering their love is mutual, it is just a matter of time before they get together.

The real fun, however, happens on the sidelines with Miyu and Tani. After witnessing Tani talking with Nishi, Miyu starts acting weirdly around him with very strong yandere vibes. This makes Tani partially happy because she is jealous and partially worried because of the intense look in her eyes.

Miyu though, seriously. Stop making those eyes when you are not having yandere tendencies because it's very misleading.

Admittedly I do like how Nishi genuinely laughs at every situation. Maybe I'm also a bit like Yamada? *feels danger*

Tani continues to worry for the majority of the episode and even ends up talking with Taira to figure out what to do next. Then, in the final scene, it is revealed that Miyu simply found out about Yamada and Nishi. She wanted to support them and was only asking Tani for more information about Nishi to help the two interact more.

It was hilarious to watch Tani fall over himself after realizing that he had been both happy and worried about absolutely nothing. To be honest, I would have felt the same way considering the pointed questions Miyu was asking, such as "Why did Nishi run away?" and "Are you close with Nishi?" all while sporting those yandere eyes.

At this point I was like "oh, we're getting a typical misunderstanding leading to jealousy?". Well it was a misunderstanding, but not the one I was expecting... View video page

As for the Yamada and Nishi situation, it is a bit of a cute nothingburger. The two are still worrying about how to interact with each other in person or via messages, but they are clearly interested. It makes you want to shout "just go and date already!" much like Nishi’s best friend Rikako feels.

Speaking of Rikako, the more I see her in the series, the more I end up liking her as a character. It could be because of her status as an onlooker regarding their relationship, which matches our own status as viewers. It could also be due to her dry thoughts about other people (see screenshot).

Shino was almost completely absent from this episode so I felt obligated to add a picture of her.

Rikako, I do understand you. I feel that's wrong, but I do totally understand your point.

So, what will be the focus of the next episode? Personally, I would like it if they started going a bit deeper into Shino and Taira’s relationship. I feel they could be the most entertaining pair to watch as they try to get together, especially considering Taira’s negative attitude toward everything.
