Seihantai na Kimi to Boku Ep.04 - Aoi is actually quite fun. Sort of Suzuki? Really?

Episode 4 of the anime series Seihantai na Kimi to Boku (正反対な君と僕) continues with its slow pace, delivering some development for the main couple while exploring the side characters a bit more. This time around, we got to see a bit more of Satou Aoi, Watanabe Manami, and Yamada Kentarou.

All three of them are quite close friends with Suzuki in their own ways. Manami and Kentarou keep leeching off Suzuki's school notes and are the typical "I won't study until the very last day and then go into full-blown panic" type of characters that every class seems to have.

Stop questioning his sense of humor Aoi, he lives in a different world than the rest of us.

Sort of? It's been 4 episodes that you two are a couple already. Sure, you haven't kissed yet, but still...

Aoi, on the other hand, is the one who caught my interest the most after watching this episode. She is the "straight man" friend, the one who tries to bring both Suzuki and Manami back to reality whenever they drift away into their dream worlds to escape. I actually liked her interactions with Tani as well.

Also, I know I might be delusional, but I see them paired up in the OP animation (where all the others were paired up with their respective partners), which makes me wonder if there is a possibility of getting some light yuri between the two? Okay, okay, stop complaining. I will put down my yuri goggles.

On the Suzuki/Tani side, we got some cute scenes at the summer festival, and Tani even got to see Suzuki without makeup in one scene (see the screenshot attached). I understand her reaction, but literally running away from your boyfriend was a bit of an overreaction. Even the usually calm Tani was slightly pissed off.

Oh, and we got the small mystery about the policeman calling her by her surname. It was brushed off by Tani with a small remark, but why is she known by them? He said "Suzuki-imouto," so I guess they know her older sibling? But why? The mystery deepens.

This was the scene that made me go 'oh she's really cute' on her. That trying to keep composure while laughing internally is ultra cute.

I can understand why Miyu doesn't want herself to be seen in that state, but girl she will eventually see it anyway so...just accept it and move on.

Honestly, I have no idea what the next episode will be about, as all my predictions have fallen apart so far. I know we are getting closer and closer to their first kiss, but it could happen at any time. Hopefully, we will see a bit more of the side characters while we wait.
