Today I read volumes 7 and 8 of Yowayowa Sensei (よわよわ先生). I honestly wasn't supposed to be writing a post about it, but the developments were funny enough and the art was amazing enough to make me go "I have to do it," so here we are again for another post.
I was ready for two volumes full of the usual ecchi antics, and they certainly delivered. However, what I wasn't expecting was for them to introduce a whole new character and even develop the romantic relationship between the characters a bit further (even if it is still in tiny steps).
She looks weirdly hotter here.
I actually like Erika a lot.The new character introduced is named Tsurumaki Tsukiko. She is the school nurse and is seen by Hiyori (Yowayowa Sensei) as the model teacher she aspires to become. She is talkative, cheerful, and adored by all the students, males and females alike.
After various thoughts, Hiyori decides to ask her how she manages to be so perfect. Tsukiko's answer was... absolutely hilarious. Apparently, she likes wearing T-backs at school to have that "doki doki" feeling. That thrill puts enough pressure on her to always stay controlled and ready.
Whoa, so beautiful...
...and absurdly hot...
...and cute too I guess?
Always gonna leave a picture for best and cutest girlIt doesn't help that Tsukiko is also a close friend from university days of Akihito's older sister (who is naturally a huge pervert). Hiyori decides to follow her pattern and go on the way of using that tension to try and get more talkative in front of the students and be more liked. Of course, this just creates even more ecchi scenes.
To make things even worse with this new character, she witnesses Akihito in one of the usual easy-to-misunderstand ecchi scenes with Hiyori. This prompts her to think that the two are in a romantic taboo relationship, which only makes her even more supportive of Hiyori.
T-Back logic!
Hiyori doubling down!On the romantic side, we have two-fold progress. On one side we have Mizuki, who finally got the courage to ask Akihito for a date. They went out together, though of course she wrapped it in a lie by saying "we are only faking it to get a special menu at the cafe." It is progress nonetheless, especially considering how Akihito is starting to notice her more.
She even managed to get a promise to go out together at the School Festival (which will be the focus of volume 9). I totally cheer for her as she is an adorable girl, but I can't see a way for her to win the romantic race over Hiyori, even with the handicap of the latter being a teacher.
Police! Arrest me!
You too! Arrest me!
Date!
Most beautiful smile!Hiyori, on the other side, is starting to notice more and more of her feelings for Akihito. Unfortunately, every time she gets close to fully realizing it, her memory resets for some comedy factor (like getting drunk). I guess we are still far from the story going toward the ending.
I am really looking forward to reading the next volume as that is going to be an important moment with the Culture Festival. The students are preparing a plan to make Hiyori more liked by the entire school, but will it manage to break through her "kowakowa" (scary) image?
