I just finished reading volumes 11 and 12 of Yowayowa Sensei (よわよわ先生), and they really packed quite a few developments into these chapters. They further explored the Mizuki situation, but they did not forget about the other characters and even introduced a completely new one.

Mizuki, as you may remember from the previous post, confessed to Akihito and was rejected. She is not going to give up, though. Now she is in full attack mode, making sure he is always aware of how much she loves him and how hot she is, especially considering the ways she tries to approach him now.

I still think she has no chance against the titular main heroine, Hiyori, but it is great comedy to see her try this hard. She was not much of a favorite for me at the beginning compared to the other girls, but she definitely grew a lot in these volumes now that she is more honest about her feelings.

There was also some development with Kaya Kuguri, the current photography club leader and a third-year student. She is about to graduate high school, and she threw a tantrum because she wants to stay with everyone else for another year, even saying she will try to flunk the year.

Of course, this was only a facade; her real worry was about pursuing photography after leaving high school. She notes that her older sister, the source of her passion, gave up on her dreams because of how competitive the world of photography has become with the advent of smartphones and cheap cameras. She is scared about the prospect of fighting for the few remaining jobs in that area. It feels quite realistic, and I was not expecting it to come from a comedy and ecchi series.

The new character introduced was Igarashi Masakuni, a very shy girl who is unable to speak to anyone because of her personality. She seeks help from Hiyori after seeing her muster the courage to speak to all the students during the cultural festival a few volumes ago.

Hiyori is overjoyed that someone is depending on her and tries to help her the best she can. However, her ideas are kind of hilarious, as she is still following the "dokidoki" method that Tsukiko taught her, so it is not really going to help poor Igarashi much. On the positive side, for us at least, Igarashi has a very mature figure, and the inevitable ecchi scenes that ensue are genuinely amazing to see.

We also got some development for Enaga Erika, the yuri discipline officer. She was suffering from withdrawal symptoms at home as she tried not to be a "hentai" toward Hiyori. However, thanks to the support of Akihito and the revelation from Hiyori that "she is a hentai too", she manages to recover. She is now also calling Akihito by his name, so it is clear proof that she now considers him a friend, which is amazing progress!

Oh, and I nearly forgot that Hiyori’s mother appeared in one of the scenes, as she was worried about Hiyori’s well-being. Hiyori is absolutely terrified of her, and we even see her mother spanking her right in front of Akihito because she had not contacted her at all recently.

I cannot blame her mother for being worried, though, considering how disastrous Hiyori’s life skills are. The house is constantly being cleaned and managed by Akihito and his sister recently, and Hiyori is only just starting to learn how to do things on her own. At least having them around made her mother calm down a bit.

Only three more volumes before I am caught up with the story, and I will be waiting just like everyone else. Hopefully, they will deliver more great content!
