Yuusha-kei ni Shosu Ep.08 - Kivia was so cute in that outfit! Frenci was not pleased.

Episode 8 of Sentenced to Be a Hero: The Prison Records of Penal Hero Unit 9004 moves Teoritta completely out of the picture for one episode, and probably two considering the ending, to focus on Kivia, Frenci, and the assassin incident from last week.

After the attack, it was clear that the enemy had information from inside the Knights, and we are now at the point where we cannot trust anyone, whether they are inside or outside the organization. Xylo thinks the best lead is to investigate the Adventurer's Guild, as that is where many of the people involved in the attack originated.

Of course, you cannot just go barging into the guild, so the plan is simple. Kivia wears noblewoman’s clothes and Xylo acts as her lover to engage in a fake quest. Meanwhile, Lotta goes inside to kidnap the representative, or rather, Dorter will do so, to extract more information. Honestly, I was completely stunned when I saw Kivia in that outfit.

It was not necessarily a "hot" outfit, but the gap between the stern, serious commander in steel armor and this girlish look was ultra cute. Her girlish reactions to Xylo's comments only made it better. I mentioned it recently, but Kivia has really softened up in recent episodes, and she seems to fit the "heroine" mold very well.

You can see the anger making Frenci make that face. Poor girl.

Kivia as a child was absolutely adorable, somehow I think that uncle didn't live long though.

Once inside the guild, things do not go as planned, especially because they are caught by Frenci Mastibolt, Xylo's fiancée, who demands an explanation. I was not expecting a catfight in the middle of a dark fantasy setting, but I honestly liked it. It could be because I am a huge fan of Frenci, but please continue!

In the end, negotiations fail. The guild tries to send child assassins to kill the group, and chaos ensues with deaths everywhere. I guess they are going that route instead of doing things discreetly. For one, Xylo seems to be rejoicing at the idea of fighting openly instead of acting like a spy of sorts.

Now just tell me, how can anyone resist to that cute blushing and face reactions? She's just the perfect heroine! There's no way around it! View video page

It is clear that the guild is deeply involved in the attack, but what exactly are they planning by trying to kill a goddess? The representative said that he is "just doing it for his family," but he did not elaborate further. Is it because his family is somehow trapped in shady dealings, or is it just a misdirection?

Furthermore, we received information about what landed Dorter in this whole "penal hero" business. It seems it was not about his petty crimes, but because he tried to save the royal prince from the court. Apparently, the prince told him that the court is going completely insane and even the King is no longer able to reason.

He was supposed to help the prince escape, but they both got caught while trying to steal a dragon. Of course, the judge and the others quickly dismiss his claims, but this opens another can of worms: just how bad is this entire society? At this point, it makes you wonder if the demon lords are actually the good guys.
