Yuusha-kei ni Shosu Ep.10 - Kivia, please go to sleep. You need it.

Episode 10 of Sentenced to Be a Hero: The Prison Records of Penal Hero Unit 9004 continues with Spriggan's forces initiating their attack to destroy the city. As is typical for this series, the human side acts with a complete lack of real strategy or organization in its defense creating a big contrast with the organized and ruthless demons.

This episode also introduces a new character from the Penal Hero Unit named Rhyno. While the story has not yet delved into his backstory, it appears that he volunteered to join the unit, which contradicts the entire concept of being a penal hero. If it is a position someone volunteers for, can it still be considered a penalty for the individual?

Obligatory Frenci because she didn't have enough screentime this week and that's a shame as I love her.

Rhyno possesses a very strange personality, even by Hero standards, and wears full-blown mechanical armor that seems completely out of place in this world due to its advanced appearance. Apparently, it is a relic from long ago, but judging by its abilities (seen in the attached video), it must be extremely valuable.

One interesting scene showed Venetim snooping around a restricted room filled with documents about the temple at the request of Rhyno. What was he searching for? Could it be related to the demon sympathizer who is currently helping Spriggan destroy the city from within?

Rhyno's armor seems to be able to deflect the attack of advanced weapons just fine. I wonder how was it built and if that technology is still available to humanity. View video page

On Kivia's side, things are not going well. She is losing her cool and most likely her sleep as well, judging by the dark circles that appeared under her eyes this week. I hope this does not result in her making mistakes. I really like her character, so I would like her to remain part of the story until the end.

The final scene with the uncle was also very interesting because it shows Kivia reaching a sudden realization after hearing him speak just one word. Is it because she suspects him of being a Demon Sympathizer? He is definitely a highly suspicious individual, but it is hard to gauge characters in this story because almost everyone seems untrustworthy to some degree.

I like how, despite the situation, all Teoritta can think of is eating and going for a walk.

Just look below her eyes, that's a strong sign of sleep deprivation Kivia. Go and sleep now!

The next episode will likely show the situation deteriorating further as the real allegiances within the human faction are tested. Who is truly an ally, and who is actually working for Spriggan to destroy humanity? I suspect this will be the final arc of the season, perhaps ending with a cliffhanger that leads into the already announced second season.
