Yuusha no Kuzu Ep.23 - Survived! Wait, it was all an inside job right from the start?!

Episode 23 of Yuusha no Kuzu focuses on the final parts of the fight against Lord Storm Coffin, which, honestly, was a lot more underwhelming than I expected for a final battle of the series. Her power turned out to be very simple to counter once you realize what it is, and the battle moved quickly. She was just programming items to move and act in a particular way.

Aki knowing about her father lying was interesting and adds a bit of depth to her otherwise very one-dimensional personality. It's a shame there's not enough time to explore that in more detail because I'm curious to see how she feels about the whole situation once she learns where everyone stands including Seira's father.

Lord Storm Coffin has class when she poses with her sword, beautiful is how I would define her. Way better than anyone else.

Though honestly, when they made her switch to be insane it felt a lot less interesting. Shame on them, shame on them!

On the positive side, Lord Storm Coffin doesn't die. They don't outright show it, but with the promise of the third way from Yashiro, it's pretty much guaranteed. This means we'll be seeing her more in the future, maybe as a supporting character, and honestly, that's something I'm looking forward to.

The real banger, and the thing I did not expect, was the revelation at the very end of the episode. Arthur Pendragon is revealed to be the current head of the organization "Half Dragon". Looking back at the story, there were hints about his involvement, but at the time, I really didn't think about it.

Arthur Pendragon linked to dragon is something I should've caught considering how long I spent playing Fate Grand Order, but I never connected the dots... View video page

The part I'm mostly interested in is how he tried to recruit Ishinoo back then. Was that a way to try and get him on their side, and did he decide to silence him when that failed? Surely they won't be trying to saying "he never died, here he is alive and kicking" right at the end right?

The next episode is the final one, titled "A Brave's Lie". Considering a final clash with Arthur is unlikely, I'm guessing they're instead going to reveal why the current head of the foundation protecting society is also the head of the group trying to break it down altogether.

What? Who? Where? Like I'm expecting a huge explanation from you Pendragon.

Yashiro wearing formal clothes and taking the hand of Yukine is so out of place that it's almost hilarious.

My assumption is that his ability to predict threats across time led him to realize some huge threat is hanging over humanity, and he is using the two organizations to try and avoid such an outcome. But maybe that's wishful thinking; let's see what happens next week, I guess...
